YORKTOWN – A Yorktown man is charged with felony stalking for continuing to contact a Somers resident on social media after being asked to stop.

State Police charged Michael Portella, 25, after Troop K Public Information Officer Trooper Krystal Paolicelli said that he allegedly persisted in unwanted communication with the alleged victim.

Paolicelli added the victim further reported that “Portella independently obtained their home address and subsequently appeared unannounced at the residence.”

Following his arrest, Portella was arraigned in Somers Town Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond, or $50,000 partially secured bond. A temporary order of protection was also issued for the victim.

The victim’s gender was not revealed by authorities.

If convicted, the offense carries a maximum penalty of five years in state prison.
