President sets new deadline as global energy corridor remains restricted and military operations continue.

President Donald Trump delivered a sharply worded warning to Iran over the weekend, urging the country to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and signaling potential escalation if conditions are not met.

In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!” He followed with a direct warning: “Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.”

The remarks came as the administration set a new 48-hour timeline for Iran to reach an agreement after earlier diplomatic efforts. Trump had previously issued an ultimatum in a March 21 post, delaying strikes on Iranian infrastructure while negotiations continued.

A day earlier, Trump reiterated the timeline in another statement, writing, “Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!”

The Strait of Hormuz remains a focal point of the dispute. According to the International Energy Agency, roughly 25% of global seaborne oil shipments pass through the narrow waterway. Iran’s restriction of traffic through the strait has contributed to rising global energy prices and heightened economic concerns.

The administration had previously announced the start of military operations against Iran on Feb. 28. In response, Iranian forces have launched missile and drone attacks targeting multiple countries in the region, including Kuwait, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Qatar, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.

Trump has also called on allied nations to assist in reopening the strategic passage. In a March 14 post, he urged European partners to take a more active role, writing that they should “build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT.” NATO member states have not publicly responded to the request.

Separately, U.S. officials confirmed the recovery of a weapons systems officer from a downed F-15E aircraft inside Iranian territory, following a rescue operation conducted early Sunday.

The situation remains fluid as diplomatic efforts and military developments continue alongside rising tensions in one of the world’s most critical energy corridors.
