MONTICELLO – Sullivan County’s 2026 annual Litter Pluck runs from April 1st through October 31st. During this period, the county legislature has waived disposal fees at all county-operated transfer stations for litter collected from roadsides, public trails, and shorelines. Communications Director Dan Hust says the effort is about keeping the county beautiful.
“It is a first impression we want to make for people who are coming into Sullivan County for the first time, but it’s also something where we want folks who are regularly living, working, traveling in Sullivan County to have pride and take pride in the county.”
There are coupons available to bring with you for free disposal of your collected litter at any county-run transfer station.
“Litter doesn’t only mean along the sides of roads,” Hust said. “But also the sides of trails, and also we recently added the sides of water bodies. Coupons are available at any village and town hall in the county.”
