Once upon a time, in a bright green forest, there lived a red fox. He was very clever, but he was also very greedy.

Wherever he went, he always thought about finding something tasty to eat. He did not often stop to think if it might be dangerous.

One sunny afternoon, as golden sunlight poured through the trees, the fox was walking around looking for food. Suddenly, he smelled something sweet in the air.
“Oh my! What smells so good?” he said, licking his lips. His eyes sparkled with excitement.

He looked up and saw a golden beehive hanging from a high tree branch. Drops of honey shone like tiny jewels as they slowly dripped down. Bees flew in and out, buzzing busily.

“Ha ha! What good luck! If I can get that beehive, I will eat sweet honey all day long!”
Then he remembered, “Bee stings hurt… But never mind! I’m so smart. I’ll be fine!”

Without thinking any more, the fox began to climb the tree. The branch shook, and the bees noticed him. A small bee flew out and said in a serious voice,
“Fox! This is our beehive. We worked hard to make this honey. Stay away!”
The fox laughed and said, “You tiny bees can’t stop me! I’ll just taste a little!”

He reached out his paw and poked the beehive.
The hive shook hard. At once, a big cloud of angry bees rushed out, buzzing loudly.
“Chase him away!”
“Protect our home!”
The fox was so frightened. He did not even taste a drop of honey before the bees stung his face and nose again and again.
“Ouch! That hurts! Please stop!” he cried.

The fox quickly climbed down and ran as fast as he could. The bees chased him for a long way before finally turning back.

The fox ran to a stream and jumped into the water with a big splash. The bees could not follow him there.

After a while, he slowly lifted his head out of the water. When he looked at his reflection, he gasped.
“My face is so swollen! Oh no!”

The fox felt pain and also great embarrassment. Sitting alone by the stream, he thought sadly,
“It’s all because I was greedy and did not listen to the warning. This is my own fault.”

From that day on, the fox never acted so foolishly again. Whenever he saw a beehive or something that did not belong to him, he reminded himself,
“If you want good things, you must respect other people’s hard work.”
And so, the forest became peaceful again. The bees kept working hard to make honey, and the fox learned a lesson he would never forget.
