BEACON – Chris White will be retiring from Beacon City Hall this summer after a career in municipal government that spanned 25 years.
He has served as city administrator for the last five years, but decades ago, he served as a councilman alongside then-Councilman and now Mayor Lee Kyracou.
“Economic revitalization and the new vitality that has happened here over a period of decades is really a testament to all of the mayors and councils that have served over that time. They just kept moving forward on investing; investing in the infrastructure here, improving the Main Street and economic vitality,” White said.
The city’s deputy city administrator, Ben Swanson, will likely be appointed to replace White.
White began his career in government with the late Congressman Maurice Hinchey and then went on to serve in Ulster County government.
