Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that intelligence reports indicate Russia may be preparing a large-scale strike against Ukraine, prompting heightened alerts across the country.
In his nightly video address, Zelenskyy urged citizens to remain vigilant, pointing to information suggesting an imminent attack but offering no specific details on timing or targets.
“Please pay attention to air raid alerts today. Intelligence indicates that Russia may be preparing a massive strike,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that defensive measures had already been put in place. “Relevant orders for air defense have already been issued.”
Russian forces have carried out repeated aerial attacks on Ukrainian cities throughout the conflict, frequently targeting infrastructure and conducting strikes during nighttime hours. The capital, Kyiv, has been among the locations repeatedly affected, along with energy facilities that have been hit in previous waves of attacks.
Zelenskyy’s warning comes as Ukrainian officials continue to monitor military activity and prepare for potential escalations, with air defense systems positioned to respond to any incoming threats.
