US President Donald Trump recently rebuked NATO nations for their inactive roles during the Strait of Hormuz crisis amid the ongoing war between Iran and US-Israel.

Trump recently mentioned, even though US-Israel is battling alone to keep the Strait of Hormuz safe – though the US is not much benefited out of that and rather other countries are more at crisis due to the route’s discussion. Trump reminded, if the US had not helped Ukraine, then Ukraine should have been destroyed within a day after Russia had invaded it in 2022.

It was also discussed by Trump how trillions of funding were going from the United States but when a “little bit” of help was needed – that was NATO’s attitude.

Then finally, 22 countries released a joint statement, saying, “We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait. We welcome the commitment of nations who are engaging in preparatory planning.”

United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, Canada, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Denmark, Latvia, Slovenia, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Czechia, Romania, Bahrain, Lithuania, Australia and the United Arab Emirates – are the countries who were mentioned in the statement.

“We condemn in the strongest terms recent attacks by Iran on unarmed commercial vessels in the Gulf, attacks on civilian infrastructure including oil and gas installations, and the de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iranian forces,” the statement also said.

“We express our deep concern about the escalating conflict. We call on Iran to immediately cease its threats, laying of mines, drone and missile attacks and other attempts to block the Strait to commercial shipping, and to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 2817,” the statement continued, referencing a resolution passed last week that spoke out against Iran’s recent actions.
