President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the United States is making significant progress in its military campaign against Iran, suggesting that his administration may soon begin scaling back operations in the region. The update came via a post on his Truth Social platform as he departed the White House for a weekend trip to Florida.

In his statement, Trump outlined what he described as key objectives of the U.S. mission in Iran, emphasizing that American forces are close to achieving them.

These goals include severely weakening Iran’s missile capabilities and dismantling its launch systems, as well as targeting the country’s defense industrial base. He also highlighted efforts to neutralize Iran’s naval and air forces, including its anti-aircraft systems, while ensuring that Iran remains far from developing nuclear weapons.

Additionally, Trump stressed the importance of maintaining the United States’ readiness to respond swiftly and decisively to any future threats. He underscored the administration’s commitment to protecting key allies in the Middle East, naming countries such as Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait as critical partners in the region.

The president also addressed security concerns surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping route. Trump suggested that nations relying on the strait for trade should take primary responsibility for its protection, noting that the United States does not depend on it for its own shipping needs.

However, he added that the U.S. remains willing to assist if requested, expressing confidence that such support may not be necessary once Iran’s threat is fully neutralized.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reinforced the president’s message, revealing that the operation—referred to as “Operation Epic Fury”—was initially projected to last between four to six weeks.

According to her, the campaign is now approaching the end of its third week, with U.S. Armed Forces making steady progress in weakening Iran’s military capabilities.

Meanwhile, reports have emerged indicating that the United States is increasing its military presence in the region, including the deployment of more than 2,000 additional Marines and several warships. When asked whether such actions might affect support among his political base, Trump pointed to favorable polling data, claiming strong backing for his decisions.

While declining to provide specific details about troop movements or future plans, the president maintained that operations are proceeding effectively and that the broader mission remains on track.

His remarks signal a potential turning point in the conflict, as the administration weighs the possibility of concluding its military efforts while continuing to safeguard U.S. interests and allies in the Middle East.
