ALBANY – A man wanted in connection with crimes in New York’s Hudson Valley was captured by U.S. Marshals in Pine Hills, Florida where he fled and was hiding.
Naveah Jackson was arrested on Monday afternoon; he fled the state following a multi-car crash on January 30.
Jackson was wanted by the Catskill Police Department for a firearms violation and by New York State Police for leading them on a 19-mile, high-speed chase that began in Greene County and ended in New Paltz, in Ulster County, 19 miles away.
“The coordination and collaboration that occurred across several different agencies to capture this dangerous suspect is a testament to the partnerships developed and strengthened over many years, said Christopher Amoia, acting U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of New York.
Jhovanny Gomez, commander of the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, said the ap-prehension of Jackson “demonstrates the unwavering commitment of the U.S. Marshals Service and our law enforcement partners to ensuring that individuals who endanger our communities are brought to justice.”
Jackson is awaiting extradition back to New York.
