Doha, Qatar – 20 February 2026
Day 3 of the prestigious CHI Al Shaqab Presented by Longines delivered elite sport and high-octane entertainment at the spectacular Longines Arena at Al Shaqab, where Belgium’s Pieter Devos captured the CSI5* Grand Prix and a brand-new Jump & Drive class electrified the crowd.
Devos and Jarina J Take Centre Stage
In the feature CSI5* 1.50m Faults & Time (LR-C), Devos guided Jarina J to a superb clear round in 59.58 seconds, securing the Grand Prix victory against a world-class field.
“I’m very happy with my horse today,” Devos said after his win. “Jarina improves every time. We’ll stay here for two more weeks, and I’m confident we can still do a few more good rounds.”
The performance underlined Devos’ consistency at the highest level, while Jarina J continues to establish herself as a formidable contender on the international circuit.
Jump & Drive Debut Brings a New Dimension
One of the standout moments of the evening came with the introduction of the CSI3* Jump & Drive (1.30m), a dynamic new format blending showjumping precision with automotive speed.
Riders tackled a technical course on horseback before dismounting mid-competition to complete the final section behind the wheel of an Infiniti vehicle — racing against the clock in a thrilling hybrid challenge.
Saudi Arabia’s Khalid Al Hadi rose to the occasion, claiming victory aboard Doremi du Flot Z in a class that instantly became a fan favourite.
International Winners Across Divisions
The international flavour of the competition continued throughout the day:
- USA’s Eve Jobs and Kannandillo topped the CSI3* 1.45m Faults & Time (LR-D) in 61.10 seconds.
“I tried to keep my round smooth,” Jobs said. “Kannandillo is naturally a very quick horse. He’s been great throughout the Tour, and we were lucky enough to get a win.” - Qatar’s Mohammed Saeed A M Haidan secured the CSI3* Special Two-Phase aboard Wathnan Stand By ME.

- Home rider Abdul Aziz Jassim A J Al Thani delighted local supporters with victory in the CSICh-B 1.10m Jump-Off (Group VII qualifier).
