POUGHKEEPSIE – Chair of the Dutchess County Legislature Yvette Valdés Smith announced Monday that the legislature had taken steps towards finalizing the allocation of $7 million for projects in the Dutchess County Housing Trust Fund. Through collaboration with local developers, these projects aim to provide hundreds of additional housing units, including affordable housing. The funds will be used to support the following projects:

  • 9-13 Noxon Street (City of Poughkeepsie)
  • Wallace Campus (City of Poughkeepsie)
  • The Clinton Crest (City of Poughkeepsie)
  • Morgan Avenue Apartments (City of Poughkeepsie)
  • Two Cross (City of Beacon)
  • Locust Hill (Town of Rhinebeck)
  • Powder House Road (Town of Amenia)

Valdés Smith (D-Fishkill) said, “At a time when all Americans are facing rising costs, this major investment in affordable housing units proves that local government can and will play a pivotal role in combating New York’s housing crisis. I look forward to the completion of these projects and to continuing to work with my colleagues to deliver on our affordability agenda through housing, public transit, EMS, and mental health programming.” The resolution passed unanimously at the Dutchess County Legislature’s meeting Monday night.
