President Donald Trump sharply criticized the NFL’s Super Bowl LX halftime show featuring rapper Bad Bunny, calling the performance “absolutely terrible” and ranking it among “the worst, EVER.”

The former president shared his reaction in a lengthy post on Truth Social, where he accused the show of failing to reflect American values and standards.

In his post, Trump described the halftime performance as a “slap in the face” to the United States, arguing that it did not represent what he views as the nation’s greatness, creativity, or excellence.

He also took aim at Bad Bunny’s decision to perform in Spanish, claiming that most viewers could not understand the lyrics.

“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!” Trump wrote. “It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.

Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”

Trump continued by framing the performance as culturally and symbolically offensive, especially at a time when he believes the country is achieving major milestones.

He pointed to economic indicators as evidence of national success, contrasting them with what he described as a lack of inspiration in the halftime show.

“This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day  including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!” Trump wrote.

“There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show, and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD.”

Trump also used the opportunity to renew his criticism of the NFL more broadly, calling on the league to “immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule,” a policy change that has drawn mixed reactions from fans and analysts alike.

The former president’s remarks sparked fresh debate on social media, where reactions to the halftime show were deeply divided. While critics echoed Trump’s frustration, others rushed to defend Bad Bunny’s performance.

Media personality Megyn Kelly weighed in on X, responding to a post about the halftime show by saying some viewers “missed out” and praising the artist’s performance. Still, she made her own preferences clear, writing, “Nah, I like my halftime shows in English from ppl who love America.”

Conservative commentator Jon Root went further, arguing that the performance carried political implications.

“The NFL having a Super Bowl Halftime Show where their performer sings ENTIRELY in Spanish & waves other nation’s flags, is [100%] a political statement,” Root wrote on X. “Bad Bunny will go down as the worst halftime show in the history of the league. America deserved better for its 250th birthday.”

While the NFL’s Super Bowl LX halftime show faced heavy criticism from some quarters, alternative programming drew praise from conservative audiences. Many highlighted Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show,” which featured performances by Kid Rock, Lee Brice, Gabby Barrett, and Brantley Gilbert.

TPUSA spokesman Andrew Kolvet shared viewership figures on social media, noting that the All-American Halftime Show reached “up to 6.1 million” views on Turning Point USA’s YouTube channel alone.

“Another nearly 1 million on CK’s YouTube,” Kolvet added, citing additional traffic from Rumble channels and other platform partners. “They’re already reporting monster numbers.”

The contrasting reactions underscored a broader cultural divide over the Super Bowl’s halftime entertainment one of the most-watched and debated moments in American pop culture each year.
