Key Storylines

Tournament
This is the 29th edition of the Qatar Masters, which has featured on the DP World Tour’s Global Schedule since 1998.
The tournament has been held at Doha Golf Club for all but two years since its inception. The 2020 and 2021 editions were held at Education City Golf Club.
Last year China’s Haotong Li holed a clutch 15-foot birdie putt at the last to edge a thrilling final-round battle against Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen and win his fourth DP World Tour title.
The Qatar Masters is the ninth event on the 2026 Race to Dubai and the fourth event on the International Swing.
The International Swing is the second of five ‘Global Swings’ included on the 2026 Race to Dubai and comprises seven events across the Middle East and Africa, running from the Dubai Invitational to the Joburg Open in South Africa.
The season is structured in three phases: the Global Swings, the Back 9, and the season-ending DP World Tour Play-Offs in November.
The Qatar Masters is the fourth consecutive event to be played in the Middle East after the Dubai Invitational, Hero Dubai Desert Classic and Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship.
Located in Al Egla, a northern district of Qatar’s capital city, Doha Golf Club was designed by Peter Harradine and opened in 1997. The venue has 27 holes – the 18-hole Championship Course and a nine-hole, floodlit academy course.
Major winner Adam Scott holds the long-standing course record, an 11-under par 61 which he carded during his final round in 2008. His round secured his second victory in this event after his 2002 triumph.
Other Major champions who have won this event include Paul Lawrie (1999, 2012), Ernie Els (2005), Henrik Stenson (2006), Retief Goosen (2007) and Sergio García (2014)
Andrew Coltart won the inaugural edition of this event in 1998, before going on to represent Europe at the Ryder Cup in 1999
