Britain’s former Prince Andrew has been forced to vacate his longtime residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor, following the loss of his royal titles and continued scrutiny over his alleged links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the BBC reported Wednesday.

Buckingham Palace had previously indicated that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly the Duke of York, would leave Royal Lodge in October, coinciding with the formal stripping of his royal titles. That move was later delayed, but the BBC reported that he has now departed the property. He is expected to return in the coming weeks to collect remaining personal belongings, though his permanent residence is now listed as the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

According to the Sun, Mountbatten-Windsor left the 31-room Royal Lodge, valued at approximately £30 million ($37 million), late Monday night and arrived in Norfolk under cover of darkness.

The relocation comes as the former prince, brother of King Charles III, remains under renewed scrutiny for his association with Epstein. British police are assessing allegations, reported by the BBC, that a woman was sent to the United Kingdom by Epstein for a sexual encounter with Andrew at Royal Lodge in 2010. Andrew has denied the claim. The woman, who was in her 20s at the time, reportedly said she spent a night at the Windsor residence, marking what the BBC described as the first allegation by an Epstein survivor of a sexual encounter occurring at a royal property.

Andrew’s ties to Epstein have drawn fresh attention following the release of millions of pages of documents and images by the U.S. Department of Justice. A recent tranche of materials includes images that appear to show Andrew kneeling over a woman lying on the ground, along with email exchanges between Andrew and Epstein dated years after Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting a minor. Additional emails released last week indicate that Epstein invited Mountbatten-Windsor to dine with a 26-year-old Russian woman.

Pressure has increased for Andrew to testify before the United States Congress. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance told the Daily Mail on Tuesday that he would support bipartisan efforts to summon the former prince to answer questions about his relationship with Epstein.

The latest document disclosures have done little to ease public speculation surrounding Epstein’s network, as lawmakers, investigators and the public continue reviewing heavily redacted records for insight into the scope of his crimes and the prominent figures connected to him.
