Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) is sounding the alarm over what he describes as a growing national security and sovereignty crisis, calling on the United States to “get serious about expatriation for the Manchurian Generation.”

His remarks reference explosive findings detailed in The Invisible Coup: How American Elites and Foreign Powers Use Immigration as a Weapon, the latest book by investigative journalist and Breitbart News Senior Contributor Peter Schweizer.

Schmitt made the comments in a post on X while responding to a Breitbart News report highlighting Schweizer’s investigation into a large-scale birth tourism network linked to communist China.

According to the report, the operation could result in more than one million U.S. citizens born on American soil but raised in China becoming eligible to vote in U.S. elections by 2030.

“We need to get serious about expatriation for the Manchurian Generation,” Schmitt wrote. “Allowing this system to stay in place is civilizational suicide. We will either become a sovereign nation once again, or we will sanction our own invasion.”

Schmitt’s warning echoes the core thesis of Schweizer’s book, which argues that America’s immigration and birthright citizenship policies are being deliberately exploited by foreign elites to gain long-term political and strategic influence inside the United States.

Breitbart News Deputy Political Editor Bradley Jaye reported that Schweizer lays out, in detail, how Chinese elites have taken advantage of these policies through a practice known as birth tourism.

In The Invisible Coup, Schweizer explains that birth tourism involves pregnant Chinese nationals traveling to the United States specifically to give birth, ensuring that their children automatically receive U.S. citizenship under current interpretations of the Constitution.

These children, though citizens by birth, are often raised entirely in communist China, educated under the Chinese Communist Party’s system, and later return to the United States with full citizenship rights.

One of the most significant incentives driving birth tourism, Schweizer notes, is the chain migration it enables. Once these U.S.-born children reach the age of 21, they can legally sponsor both parents for permanent residency in the United States.

This mechanism, he argues, dramatically expands the long-term impact of the practice far beyond the initial birth itself.

To illustrate the scale of the issue, Schweizer points to the U.S. territory of Saipan in the Pacific. He writes that more than 70 percent of newborns there are born to parents from the People’s Republic of China who exploit the territory’s 45-day visa-free entry rules and the Covenant of the Northern Mariana Islands.

These legal provisions, he argues, have effectively turned the territory into a hub for guaranteed U.S. citizenship.

The book has drawn praise from President Donald Trump, who publicly endorsed it in a post on Truth Social.

Trump described The Invisible Coup as both urgent and eye-opening, warning that the United States is facing serious internal and external threats.

“A GREAT NEW BOOK, by Number One Bestselling Author, Peter Schweizer, ‘The Invisible Coup: How American Elites and Foreign Powers Use Immigration as a Weapon,’ is out Tuesday,” Trump wrote.

“It is both vitally important and very interesting. Bad things have been happening to the U.S.A., and we must stop it, NOW! We will not let anyone ‘bring down the American Empire.’ BUY THIS BOOK!”

As debate over immigration, national identity, and election integrity intensifies, Schmitt’s remarks and Schweizer’s findings are likely to fuel renewed calls on Capitol Hill for stricter enforcement, policy reform, and a broader national conversation about the long-term consequences of birthright citizenship in an era of global geopolitical competition.
