POUGHKEEPSIE – Armani Williams, a 27-year-old Poughkeepsie resident, was sentenced to six years in prison this week after pleading guilty to a rape charge in October. Following his time behind bars, Williams will spend 10 years on post-release supervision and be required to register with the state as a sex offender.
Williams admitted to having sex with a person under the age of 15 in March of 2024. Williams was 25-years-old at the time of the assault.
Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi stated, “This sentence sends a clear message to our community, especially to survivors: sexual violence in any form is unacceptable, and those who commit these acts will be held accountable under the law.” Parisi also credited the Child Advocacy Center and the New York State Police “for their trauma-informed collaboration and dedication in bringing this case forward.”
Parisi, who campaigned on victims’ rights, intimated that this case showcases his commitment to “victim-centered prosecution.”
