RHINEBECK – The 19-year-old Kingston resident who was killed in has been identified as Jonathan Aguirre.  The crash on Route9G near Route 308 occurred at approximately 12:50 pm on Friday, January 2nd, and also entrapped occupants of both involved vehicles.

Aguirre, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, was operating a Nissan Sentra northbound on Route 9G when he crossed over the center pavement markings and struck a Subaru sedan head-on. The operator of the Subaru attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to, and the occupants of the Subaru were transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“At this time, no charges have been filed,” said DCSO Captain John Watterson.  The Sheriff’s Office’s Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the collision.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police and the Town of Rhinebeck Fire Department.
