NEWBURGH – Minutes after the new year was greeted on Thursday, baby Elora Burks was welcomed into the world at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall in Newburgh.
Elora was the hospital’s first baby to arrive in 2026 at 12:07 a.m. at the Kaplan Family Birthing Center.
Baby Elora weighing six pounds, 5.4 ounces, and 19 ½ inches long.
Both mother and baby are doing well.
The hospital’s Kaplan Family Birthing Center team was on hand to ensure a safe delivery and a healthy start for the newest Newburgh resident.
