POUGHKEEPSIE – A Main Street building partially collapsed Monday, bringing the Poughkeepsie Fire Department to the scene around 8 a.m.  The building is a vacant three-story warehouse on the rear of the property at 442 Main Street.  It is owned by Talmadge Street Property, LLC, located in Manhattan.

Firefighters worked to secure the perimeter but were unable to enter the structure because it was unstable.

Central Hudson workers responded to disconnect the electric service to the building, which was still connected when the roof of the building collapsed all the way down to the first floor in portions of the 115-year-old building.

No injuries were immediately reported.

A city building inspector was also at the scene.
