The UK economy met with a sharp decline with its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) shrunk by 0.1% in October.
A similar situation was experienced in September which was also hit by 0.1% decline, following 0% growth in August.
It was predicted by economist that in October the economy might rise by 0.1%.
This drop takes up criticism, when UK Govt has already been in fire for a while due to downing trust in the leadership.
“The UK economy shrank again in October – by 0.1% – and has now contracted in four months in a row. In fact, GDP has now fallen in 9 of the 16 months of the Labour government…”, said Julian Jessop on his X handler.
Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves is also facing harsh criticism and demands raised for her resignation.
Original article“UK GDP fell 0.1% in October after a 0.1% drop in output in September. City economists had predicted a 0.1% rise. The economy was gummed up by Budget speculation which say every economic sector sit on its hands until they saw what was in store for them. Thanks, Rachel,” popular columnist Andrew Neil posted.
“Why were city economists predicting economic growth, while the Chancellor was busy pouring cold water on our economy?” anger escalated on X as economists predicted that the UK economy would grow in October. “Many of us in the real world weren’t.”
