President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that every executive action, proclamation, and contract signed by Joe Biden using an autopen during his administration has been officially terminated.

President Donald Trump said he has “completely terminated” all documents signed by former President Joe Biden through the autopen device, declaring such actions legally void and without force.

“Any and all Documents, Proclamations, Executive Orders, Memorandums, or Contracts, signed by Order of the now infamous and unauthorized ‘AUTOPEN,’ within the Administration of Joseph R. Biden Jr., are hereby null, void, and of no further force or effect,” Trump wrote Tuesday on Truth Social.

He further warned that “anyone receiving ‘Pardons,’ ‘Commutations,’ or any other Legal Document so signed, please be advised that said Document has been fully and completely terminated, and is of no Legal effect.”

The announcement fulfills Trump’s pledge made last week, when he stated that “any document signed by Sleepy Joe Biden with the Autopen, which was approximately 92% of them, is hereby canceling and of no further force or effect.”

Trump has long criticized what he described as Biden’s overreliance on the autopen — a mechanical signing device historically used by presidents to authorize documents when physically unavailable. Trump has argued that Biden’s staff “were effectively running the government with a machine.”

Federal defense attorney Ronald Chapman II told Newsmax on Sunday that Trump may have authority to invalidate executive actions if the autopen was used without Biden’s explicit consent. “If anybody used the autopen without Joe Biden’s express permission, without him deciding that a pardon is OK, it’s going to be an invalid signature, and the force and effect of that signature makes it moot,” Chapman said.

Legal scholars have noted that autopen-signed documents are considered valid only if the president authorized their use. If a president neither approved nor was aware of the document being signed, the legitimacy of such actions could be challenged in court. However, no such legal challenge has yet succeeded in overturning autopen-authorized measures.

White House aides under Biden had previously acknowledged that he routinely employed the device for executive orders, ceremonial proclamations, condolence messages, and renewals of emergency declarations — particularly while traveling or during medical recovery.

The issue drew scrutiny from the GOP-led House Oversight Committee, which questioned the authenticity of several Biden-era executive orders and proclamations signed by autopen. The committee’s report alleged that some lacked clear documentation of Biden’s personal approval and called on the Department of Justice to investigate potential misuse of presidential authority.

Trump’s sweeping order to nullify the Biden autopen documents marks an unprecedented move in modern presidential history, raising potential legal and constitutional questions about the permanence of executive actions signed by mechanical proxy.
