here a little bit it's really soft So I strongly assume there was once some kind of hole here for whatever reason And someone just filled this up But neither waterproof nor anything else Water has naturally seeped in over the years which is also visible Because the entire wall has naturally rusted away This must have run down nicely here Naturally annoying for us We should take a look at how much has rusted through here No we don't need to put on a new record because it's already worn through Because that's really several layers But we'll take a look at that today during the day Yes since we can't see it from the outside and I'd like to know already It looks like that from above not that everything here is completely rusted through and we need a completely new plate I'll now open up the teak deck here to take a look at it and get an overview Still everything looks like this You can clearly see here that where it is so reddish the rust has already gotten through I certainly didn't always with the steel brush After that it was sanded down again And I think I've caught the biggest things and the rest one has to continue working on with the sander now These are your robot sounds I already treated the bathroom here with a steel brush and scraped off the roughest spots with a putty knife Smoothed off And now it's time for the grinding so the actual sanding But I have to take one top to bottom Exactly and you just have to mix the whole thing here in a cup with a specific ratio I have some here looks like apple juice And I just apply it here with a sponge like this I didn't multitool I think I have mainly done smaller jobs with this now Then I even switched to the rust for this one That actually worked out pretty well I just polished it a bit more and then sanded it down with the other one And I did the large areas with this So that works best there Cheers again from my side We had a demanding day behind us A lot has been done especially a lot of polishing by Steffi resulting in very good outcomes Now we will make something to eat We have something special planned for this weekend We actually brought our small grill along and will now have a little bit of a grill session Enjoy a cozy grilled meat Then spend another one or two hours sanding and swinging the tool box Yes Steffi and I still did a good job polishing yesterday And we are now at the point where we have definitely removed all rust from two surfaces Just small paint remnants left And I want to try something I got a new primer from International and it's a 2K system I don't of course know how the previous owner painted the color And if I had taken a 1K system I heard that when a 1K system is overlaid with a 2K system the 1K dissolves underneath I certainly don't want to do that but I also don't know what he used so we'll just have to try it now Then we'll just see whether it works or not I'm crossing my fingers that it works Yes as you can already see here it already looks quite good one and a half hours after the first coat here You can see it clearly Good news the old paint is not being removed So either it's also a 2K paint or it's actually a fairy tale That 1K paint dissolves when it is overcoated with 2K What delights us now we have to steel Not really remove a hundred percent of the old paint but if there are just two or three spots without rust We can confidently paint over it because what's underneath is really cool And that's exactly how it looks now here That means nicely done Here below we will do that right away Since that worked well above we will do the area as well now We'll add another layer on top of that Yes then it should fit quite well And next time we'll continue again So from a different perspective or at another spot but a very nice spot We drove to the marina next door We used the pool here Or we can use it too Yes it's very relaxed here After our small setback that we experienced this weekend namely our boat We unfortunately have this hole
