According to the Specialty Rice Development Project of Sâu Trằng, the province plans to use production in 7 districts, Trần Đề, Mỹ Xuyên, Ngã Năm, Thành Trị, Mỹ Tú, Châu Thành, and Lông Phú. The area of specialty rice reaches 117,000 hectares, which accounts for 96% of the total area of specialty rice. Among them, the area that grows the most ST rice, the rest are seasonal rice and other light rice varieties. In addition, there are also special varieties such as purple rice, red rice, which meet the needs of people with diabetes. The ST rice varieties of Sâu Trằng are cultivated. Up to now, there are 3 businesses on the province's map that have been approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Sâu Trằng. They are Sâu Trằng Rice, Thành Tín Commodity and Trade, and Trung An Spice. As of 2020, the production of Sâu Trằng rice reached 800,000 tonnes. It is a stable development with the application of technology to produce high quality and much value products. I have been planting rice for about 20 years already.
