Trade Rumors ESCALATING... New Report REVEALS Wild Dodgers Trade | LA Dodgers News
Oct 11, 2026
Trade rumors are escalating.
A new report reveals a wild Dodgers trade.
We get into those details in this edition of Dodgers Digest.
How's everybody doing out there?
I'm Mike Nelson bringing you the everyday Dodger content.
I want to thank everybody
who is always tuned in here to talk the best team in baseball for sure.
But let's get into this story.
the Dodgers could be getting better yeah they're already
the best team in baseball i mean yesterday
they proved it coming back winning it in a one
of the funnest games we've seen all season long
last night against the d-backs a 10 inning thriller
a comeback win it was a really fun game to watch
and now the Dodgers could
be uh getting another star i mean what's going on here Paul Skenes yeah
Paul Skenes is maybe one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Dodgers give an inside track
to add Paul Skenes after a shocking Pirates move.
Of course, the Pirates shocked everybody
when they fired their manager, Derek Shelton,
after just 38 games this season.
I mean, very early.
I mean, there's been a lot of managers already fired, right?
We've seen Baltimore fire their manager, Pittsburgh, and also Colorado.
So these guys aren't sticking around here in 2025.
their front offices have been aggressive
when it comes to getting rid of their managers but
now you know with this firing of Shelton the next step
is maybe trading Paul Skeens right I mean
this is what Harold Reynolds said
on MLB Network recently you gotta you get a forever return for
him you know you're gonna get a bunch for Paul Skenes
if you decide to trade him if the franchise
isn't circling the wagons around him you gotta move him
that's just the way it is and doesn't
this smell a bit like the Shohei Ohtani situation
in anaheim just a couple years ago i mean the
Angels were going through different managers um Ohtani
was not happy in Anaheim with the way things
were going uh the team was an absolute dumpster fire missing
the playoffs every year and in 2023
the rumors started that the Angels would trade
Shohei Ohtani right i mean well i mean at least
some people in the front office wanted to trade him
but as we know Arte Moreno probably the worst
owner in in professional sports I mean Moreno
is probably the worst owner in baseball and the
worst owner in sports decided not to trade Ohtani
and the rest is history the Dodgers picked him up
you know for 700 million dollars it wasn't like they didn't have
to pay anything for him but the
Angels got nothing for him right
the Angels got absolutely nothing for Ohtani so do the Pirates
want to fall into the same trap right I mean
that's going to be the big question mark I mean
do you really think Paul Skeens is going to re-sign
with the Pittsburgh Pirates I mean honestly the
Pirates are awful they stink we saw Skenes pitch
at Dodger Stadium um what was it back in April
about a month ago got a chance to see him pitch
and you know he was great uh that Friday night
game um and this guy is a great pitcher I mean Paul Skenes
is a very good pitcher I mean this
guy is not this guy you don't mess around
with Paul Skenes this guy is good right so for the
Dodgers to potentially get
a player like Paul Skenes would absolutely be game-changing right
Skeen's a recently unthinkable trade candidate suddenly
at the center of trade speculation you
know with this firing Jacob Mounts of FanSided identified
the Dodgers as one of the teams with
an inside track to obtain it Los Angeles has
a long list of starters that are currently unable to
pitch you know Roki Sasaki Snell Glass now she
hadn't hurt you know guys from the Triple A system
these guys can't pitch so the Dodgers trade
for the Dodgers this would only cement their status
well that next comment i don't see if i really agree
with that because even the Dodgers don't
get Skenes i mean i think they're
the World Series favorites anyway right i mean we don't need Paul
Skenes to win the World Series we've already we just won
the World Series last year without him
and with less pitching so the Dodgers
are World Series favorites even if they don't acquire Paul
Skenes but acquiring Paul Skenes wouldn't hurt
because right now the Dodgers are extremely
shorthanded as it is you know
when it comes to pitching the Dodgers have the assets they have
the you know the farm system
that could they could definitely get right i mean it's not like the
Dodgers don't have anything to give up
and in this next part of this article from today it even
goes into detail on what the Dodgers could
be giving up if they go after Paul Skenes right i
mean the Dodgers are stacked
with pitching we might expect them to part with their number nine
prospect and promising hurler River Ryan right River Ryan
was very good with the Dodgers last
year when he got a chance to play at the major league level
and right now of course injured
gonna miss the entire 2025 season
so he can't contribute this year but I'm sure there's gonna
be teams that are gonna want him next year in 2026
so the Dodgers could trade River Ryan in
this trade and then you know that would be a good asset right there
but we know the Pirates are
gonna want more than that and this is where it gets
a little bit I don't know if realistic if
the Dodgers make this trade right
because if they were if they would try to get you know Hassan Kim
or even Dalton rushing right
with the Dodgers releasing Austin Barnes recently I mean the
Dodgers really gonna go out
and trade um you know Dalton rushing I don't think so right I mean
there's even possibility rushing could potentially be a first baseman
or a third baseman or even play
a little bit in the outfield
this guy looks like he's pretty valuable for the Dodgers so I don't
know if they're going to trade him
and then come on Hassan Kim the guy's hitting over 400 why would
they trade Hassan Kim so that's why I mean even
if the Dodgers you know get a chance or the rate
the rumors start to to ramp up for Paul Skeens I mean
do the Dodgers really have enough to trade
for Paul Skeens I mean
that would the Pirates really accept only minor league um talent for
Paul Skeens I mean do you really think
that's all they're going to accept I mean I think they're
going to want a bit more than that right I think they're going
to want a little bit more um than
just guys that are going to be playing
the major leagues two three years down the line or even
River Ryan River Ryan obviously
is not a major league baseball ready talent I mean he still
maybe has what he would probably start next year
in AAA for the Dodgers right if he's healthy
but he he does have he does show signs that he's going
to be a you know a star pitcher right he
definitely shows signs of that i mean let's
not act like river ryan is is a scrub and it's just
you know getting by or we have no idea
and this guy has shown signs that he is potentially a major
league all-star caliber pitcher
so teams could be interested in somebody like that and that's why
you know the Paul Skenes I mean they could
include River Ryan and maybe a couple other
minor league prospects and maybe they can get this done
but it doesn't seem realistic
i don't know whatever everybody thinks out there would
the dodgers really aggressively go after Paul Skenes
now here's a little update on Shohei Ohtani uh got
a chance to throw breaking pitches
um as we know trying to ramp him up for uh
his pitching return the dodgers shorthanded
tonight is a huge game
but good signs for Ohtani you know getting a chance to throw breaking
pitches know he'd only been throwing fastballs up until now.
So this is a good update.
Dodgers going to be taking on the D-backs again tonight.
The last game, the third game of this three-game set.
Corbin Burns going for the D-backs.
He's had a solid year, 3-1, 2.56 ERA.
Facing Dustin May, who has struggled 1-4 with a 4.43 ERA.
But it's a pretty big game.
Dodgers don't want to lose back-to-back series at home.
So got to try to find a way to get a dub tonight.
Get a win.
And, you know, get ready for the road trip.
Dodgers have to fly all the way to New York
to play three games against the Mets this weekend.
As always, make sure to subscribe, and let's go Dodgers.
Woo!
