This is Massive for the Grizzlies...
Aug 19, 2026
This is massive for the Grizzlies. Now, there are already extremely high expectations on Camp Hoosier, who has the ceiling to become Rookie of the Year, but one NBA writer
revealing that he is going to face tremendous pressure and even did an article about the player with the most to prove
enlisting a rookie on that list as the one that has the highest ceiling but also still a lot to prove for the Memphis Grizzlies.
What's going on everybody, Jared Alatorre for another episode of Grizzlies Digest bringing you the latest news and updates on everything Grizzlies related.
You can like, comment, subscribe to the channel if you haven't already. And again, look, we're going through a dead period right now, but that's okay because we're getting out content for you.
And we have to talk about this article that came out. Now, this is from Grant Hughes of Leach Report. Now, I've gone over a few of his articles before.
And he has a headline called, One Player with the Most to Prove on Every NBA Team. Now, we kind of just talked a little bit about it.
A lot of, look, low expectations this year for the Memphis Grizzlies entirely, but extremely high expectations on this kid, Cam Boozer, who is listed on the article as the Grizzly with the most to prove.
Now, personally, I have to say that I disagree with this. It's only because of the fact, look, we all know that he's going to change the program and the hype is going to be much higher and he's going to come in and be this generational talent.
Now, this is another conversation I feel like we should have on another video. A massive buzz. I mean, you never really know with guys, who could have ever predicted Michael Oluwakundi, or Tarko Milicic, or Anthony Bennett, for that matter.
I mean, if he's a massive buzz, he didn't really look like that in Summer League at all. And there's plenty of NBA media people thinking that he was the perfect pick, the perfect team designed to uplift a small market team to unreal new heights.
So everything that he has done and what he looks like indicates that I don't think that he's going to be a massive buzz. Now, could he not exceed expectations by not being Rookie of the Year? Yeah, maybe. But that's not being a massive buzz.
I mean, being a massive buzz means that you're going to average like 6.8 points a game and maybe 7.2 rebounds with 3.8 assists and really not be much of a factor like we thought you were going to be. That might be in the vicinity of a massive buzz.
But if he doesn't win Rookie of the Year, or anybody can get close to it, I feel like that's going to be a buzz.
This is more of Matt Hughes here.
This camera angle. More likely his court sense, passing creativity, shooting touch, and generally excellent processing speed will overcome athletic limitations that might not be as bad as doomsayers believe.
I didn't even realize that that was a thing. When were doomsayers ever saying that he had athletic limitations? I don't remember anybody talking about that.
A boozer has a far better shot to win Rookie of the Year than a flop, but even his biggest supporters have to see the potential downside.
It's up to Boozer to prove his obvious strengths can more than offset his mistakes.
Again, I feel like there's a lot of bark but no bite here with this.
So again, first of all, we've got massive buzz, we've got athletic limitations, and then we've got the most to prove.
I think that he's going to be a phenomenal player, to say the least, and if he doesn't exceed those high rookie expectations that we have for him, I don't think anybody should be worried.
But that's more of a chance to happen than him being a bust with athletic limitations.
There was a couple of plays in summer league where I saw he was really hustling to get offensive rebounds.
He looked like someone who looked NBA ready, one of the best players in college basketball.
He was long at 18, 19 years old.
Look, this is prime time for him to be the face of the men's division.
Unless I see otherwise, then there's a reason to believe that.
But I don't think that really anybody needs to be worried here.
It's a little extreme, I think, to say all this, but again, I don't necessarily think that he is going to be the one to have to succeed.
How much can you ask of an NBA rookie?
So this is our last question of the day.
Who has the most to prove?
Is it Cam Boozer?
Do you agree with the article?
Jeremy Grant?
D.D. Jackson?
Tyrone?
Who do you think?
Or someone else?
I should have added other in there, but those are the first four guys that I thought about.
But let me know in the comment section down below what you think.
Again, you can like this video, comment, share this video.
And, hey, leave a comment down below what you think, who has the most to prove, the reaction to the article itself,
any of the quotes that you found interesting.
But that's going to do it for us.
We appreciate you, and we'll see you in the next video.
