The tides are turning for Houston as following
a huge win in London against the division
rivals, Houston now finds themselves on a win streak.
How much does this help Houston and can they still make the playoffs?
What's up ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Texans Digest.
I'm your host as always, Isaac Estrada.
Man, what a game we just witnessed.
Houston Texans against the Jacksonville Jaguars
in London ends in a thrilling win.
Man, we're going to dive into all that and more
because I think Houston can still make
the playoffs after this win.
But right before we dive into all that, man,
about 90% of you guys still not subscribed.
So do your boy a favor, hit that subscribe button.
You're going to be getting daily updates here on Texans Digest.
Man, let's not waste any more time.
Let's not waste any more time at all
because I think Houston Texans can still make the
playoffs.
But first, we're going to break down this game
and what this means for Houston.
So let's start off.
Houston sneaks out of London with a major win.
Houston now back on track with a 2-4 record.
And I know what a lot of you guys are thinking.
I know what you're thinking before you even say, Isaac, they're 2-4.
Let's calm down.
I'm not going to calm down.
I'm not going to calm down because when this team was 0-4,
if you follow this channel closely,
when this team was 0-4, I was saying,
hey, I think this team can still do something great this season, man.
I think this team can still make a playoffs.
I think they can still show that they can still be Super Bowl caliber,
but it's going to take a miracle.
And a miracle is what we are getting as Houston Texans fans.
Last week, obviously, you beat the Tennessee Titans.
We keep talking about it.
Obviously, you beat the Tennessee Titans.
There's not a whole lot of weight behind that.
Tennessee Titans are a mess this season.
But I said, hey, you finally get a win.
You get a win against the division rivals.
it can only go up from here, right? Sure enough, it did.
Week six of the NFL season, Houston
Texans, they pull off the win against
the Jacksonville Jaguars. And if you notice closely
in my introduction slide, I said Houston sneaks out
of London with the win. And I know what you're
already thinking. Isaac, this game was neck
and neck the whole game. If not, Houston was in lead
for a big chunk of the game, obviously after halftime
and then right before Fairbairn kicked
the game winning field goal. I'll tell you something.
I say they snuck out of London with
the win because we've been talking about it all week on this channel.
London is the Jacksonville
Jaguars home away from home.
That is constantly a Jacksonville Jaguar pro crowd. Jacksonville had
already been there for going on two weeks
because last week they had played Philadelphia Eagles over
there and ended that in a great game. I had said it all week.
I said, hey, this is gonna be a tough
game for Houston. You're not only on the road.
You're not only against the division rival. You're
in London. That time change is kind of crazy to adapt to.
You're in London. Not only are you in
London, you're in a pro Jacksonville Jaguar crowd.
Jacksonville or London loves Jacksonville. That is
their home away from home. Jacksonville loves staying there.
They go there every single season.
Roger Goodell sends them there every single season.
I thought they had all the advantages
in the world. It did not matter.
Houston got out of here with a 34-31 win off of that 49-yard field
goal by Fairbairn. What a game, man.
What a game, and we're going to break it down. We're going to
start off with the Houston Texans offense
because that was their strong suit. CJ Stroud, what a
phenomenal game by CJ Stroud. I keep saying it.
I say, CJ, hey, if you want that bag, you got to
prove something. You got to show us that you're worth the bag.
He keeps doing that each and every
single week, man. Even in the losses,
I still think he does a great job of showing it. Let's
put this here on the big screen.
So CJ Stroud, 312 passing yards, three touchdowns. He does throw
that first interception of the season,
but I don't think it really matters here as we're sitting here
with the victory. 70% completion percentage.
CJ, you're starting to see it now that Marvin Harrison
Jr. is on the team. They are finally,
CJ is just having great time through the air. He's doing
phenomenal through the air 312 passing yards man
obviously we'll talk about that interception a
little bit later on but I think it was still
a great game for this offense Jalen Nolan where
did you come from man 107 yards
and a 50 yard catch he got himself a touchdown great performance
Nico Collins after that catch he had on the first drive
or not I think it was actually the second
drive where we scored a touchdown Nico Collins had
that great catch it ended in a Marlon Klein
or not a Marlon Klein it ended in a touchdown cast
by Foster Monroe obviously Nico Collins
had that great catch I want to call it double team it
was kind of sort of not really double coverage
but either way he had a great catch
and he kind of went quiet after that he kind of went a little
bit quieter after that 42 yard grab went
a little bit slow after that then he came back in a big way
when we needed him in the fourth quarter another
huge 20 yard reception on that drive where we
ended up kicking the field goal Nico Collins
and once again proving why he is the number one
receiver on this team but the number one receiver
on this team today was Jalen Nolan Jalen Nolan
had himself a great game man he looked great last
week against Tennessee as well Marvin Harrison
Jr. I think it's a good start for him man a good start
for him we kept talking about how he wasn't
going to be 100% they weren't going to throw all
the plays on him I get that but I still think we
needed him in a big way we didn't get him in a ginormous way
but three catches for 34 yards for
Marvin Harrison Jr. I think that's still
a great performance I think that's still something to hang
our hats high on because apparently up to this coaching staff
and what the coach has to say and
what a lot of people are saying is you know Marvin still isn't 100%
in terms of getting to know the
playbook, and they're not running him on 100% of plays.
That being said, he still had a pretty
solid game. I think when we talked about his time with Arizona,
he was getting maybe one target a
week, maybe two, and not really going anywhere.
In his first game with Houston, he had himself
three catches for 34 yards, a pretty solid performance.
Obviously, KeShawn Booty, I had
told you, hey, this guy's good,
but I think Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to very easily take his spot.
We're already seeing that, but just offensively
was a great performance. Foster Monroe had himself
a phenomenal game if you guys remember
that second touchdown he had right before halftime
back of the end zone no Jacksonville Jaguar
was in the five yards of that man easy touchdown over
the middle by CJ Stroud probably
the easiest touchdown pass he'll ever have in his career
great performance by this offense man
this defense man I'm gonna I'll say it I'll say this defense
wasn't the best in the world
but guess what man this defense did just enough they did just enough
let's talk about that touchdown drive
or that field goal drive by Jacksonville right before
Houston went on that game winning field goal drive
at the end of the game this defense did
what they were supposed to man headed
into that we can now talk about we'll we'll now talk about
that CJ Stroud interception we can talk about
that CJ Stroud interception it was the end of the game
obviously we're up by three I'm looking
at this I'm saying hey three minutes left we are five
what was it five six yards away from scoring
a touchdown I'm saying hey we're right there
we are right there CJ just run it in with Woody Marks not just
because I have him on my fantasy
team but we're right there man throw a touchdown you've
been perfect this year throws the interception
to Travis Hunter was really disappointing man it
was really disappointing to see that and I was
thinking it couldn't have came at a worse time man
that first interception of the season couldn't
have came at a worse time Jacksonville has
a great offense Trevor Lawrence was driving all
throughout the game he had himself
a great performance as well I was seeing that I was
seeing that T-Law had had himself a good game up
to that point I was saying Jacksonville is going
to drive on this team and they're going to get some
points on the board I hope it's not a touchdown
but they're going to drive on this team
and get some points on the board and for a minute there
it looked like they were going to get
that touchdown they did not when this defense needed
to this defense held up very great obviously they
stopped Jacksonville Jacksonville ties it up 31-31
all now Houston has a minute to get going
and they get going in a big way Nico Collins has himself a
great catch on that game-winning drive that on top
of Woody Marks just doing just enough and in my
opinion just kind of draining the clock
while still getting some meaningful yardage obviously
there was only once or twice where he got about
two yards I think outside of that Woody Marks was
pretty decent something I will say just just
a little side note I said Woody Marks should have
been getting the starting snaps he did I think that was good for him
but at the same time I'm
looking at Woody Marks Jahan Jordan
also had himself his first career touchdown so that's good
but I'm kind of looking at this team
and I'm saying hey this this this offseason when we enter
into the draft this is probably the time where you draft
that where you draft that young speedy
running back in the third or fourth round maybe
the fifth round where you draft that guy you know
I think this is kind of what we're looking
at Woody Marks had himself an okay game but
in the long run I still think we need
to do something different at running back position
obviously that offensive line needs to be better in that case
but still just a great game man just
a great game I absolutely love what I saw
from this team man obviously defense you got to tweak
it a little bit let's talk about it man the defense
was okay I think Kamari Lassiter had himself a
great game Reed Blankenship I'll say that you hate
to see him leave the game he left the game with
the concussion protocol obviously you hate to see
that but still was pretty solid for a team that I
was hyping up this offensive line and saying hey man
or this defensive line and saying hey they're
gonna do phenomenally i think they're gonna
do great i think this defensive line i think will
Anderson Jr is gonna feast i think Daniel Hunter
is gonna be right behind him they didn't get a
single sack man they did not they were not and correct me
if i'm wrong guys because i will admit
uh this game was at 8 30 in the morning 8 30
in the morning on sundays you know what i'm doing
i'm at church i am at church i actually got
my my church t-shirt on right now i was at church today
whenever this game was going on so i only made it
for the around the second half which what i was
able to watch but from what I've seen man
this defense it did okay obviously I would have loved
to see them get that sack swarm swarm Trevor Lawrence behind
the line they weren't able to
do that but it was still
a great game Kaden Bullock I'm gonna say this Kaden not Kaden
Kaden Bullock he had himself
a great game last week against Tennessee I think he was absolutely
disruptive this week again did himself
a phenomenal job got himself an interception as well on T-Law
that's one you put in the books I intercepted Trevor Lawrence
as Trevor Lawrence's career is
going pretty well I absolutely love what I saw out
of him he played very solid and I just love
what I saw from this team man
and I want to talk about it now I want to talk about what this means
for this team because I think they can still do it man
this team has proven that they can come back
from adversity they've done it in past seasons
and obviously people like to talk about the fact
that DeMeco Ryans hasn't let this team past the divisional round
and we've had some great teams
over the past few years very similar teams than what we have now
but even more stacked I think
offensively this team can still do it man
but once again it's going to take a lot of effort you're
still two and four at the end of the day
that we're going good back back on that winning streak
but you're still two and four you're still two
and four so you do got to kind of be like okay
we still got a long way to go but this is a good start
and I love what I'm seeing from DeMeco
Ryans I think him calling plays defensively has
been great obviously this week the defense wasn't
phenomenal but you know how good
is that Jacksonville Jaguars offense is what we have to
ask ourself a lot to clean up on still obviously
that interception in the red zone by CJ Stroud
you hate to see it but there's still
so much good to take away from this game and I loved
what I saw, offensively at least, from the Houston Texans.
CJ Stroud's on a roll right now, man.
He's on a roll right now, obviously through
his first interception of the season. I think he's
still on a roll. I think he's still doing great, man.
I think there's a lot to look forward to him
as well. Something I'm going to ask you guys.
We're going to end this video on a high note.
We're already going to be looking towards the future.
You play New York next week. New York is,
they're a bit of a tricky team to cover, aren't they?
Because they're 3-1-1, but I feel like
they're a team that is one three
and one if that makes sense they don't feel like a great football
team they do not feel like a great football team
and I think it's a very winnable game for Houston
so I'm going to ask you guys this question does Houston does
this game change your opinion on if
Houston can make the playoffs yes no or beat New York next week
and then we can talk I know a lot
of people are still like hey Isaac we're still two
and four I'm not going to jump the gun on this
team obviously great win in London
but I'm not going to jump the gun on this team I agree with
that. But I think we can start having
that conversation next week if we put another whooping
on the New York Giants. I think, again,
it has to be that kind of game that we talked about with
Tennessee, how, hey, this isn't the best football team
in the world. Go out there and put a whooping
on them. Go out there and put a whooping on them.
Everybody loves themselves some Jameis Winston.
Jameis Winston, one of the most likable guys
in the league. You got to go out there and you got
to put a whooping on him. Will Anderson Jr. was not really there.
We didn't see much of him this
afternoon. I think he had one tackle.
You got to see more of that. You got to see more of him and
Dan Hunter in the next game
but let me know what you guys think does this change your opinion
on if Houston is still a playoff contender
and if it doesn't this week will it next week thank you
guys so much for watching today on Texans Digest have
a great day have a blessed day I'll see you
guys tomorrow in H-Town Down
