He is adding fuel to the fire right now as this summer has been rampant with speculation and rumors regarding bigger moves coming for the Toronto Raptors and Kyrie Irving has been atop that list. People looking for an upgrade at that guard position, which we'll get into in this video, but recent moves, so to speak, by Kawhi Leonard, as well as the top man in the Toronto Raptors front office, Bobby Webster, some quotes from him, have the speculation, have the rumors rampant amongst Toronto Raptors fans once again regarding Kyrie Irving and the potential for trading for him this season with all this we'll break down the substance to this rumors and whether or not it makes any sense for the Toronto Raptors as there is a legitimate relationship here between Kawhi Leonard and Kyrie Irving dating back multiple seasons this isn't just some flash in the pan random thing that's going on let's just dive straight into it because Kawhi Leonard adding some smoke out here to the Kyrie Irving fire and we've made a bunch of videos out there this summer regarding Kyrie Irving and the potential of him joining the Toronto Raptors and all the rumors and speculation that's been going on following the Kawhi Leonard trade and this has gone a little viral now amongst Toronto Raptors fans and it's how Kawhi Leonard just followed Kyrie Irving out there on Instagram and vice versa now a lot of people might look at this this is we're in the weeds we're in the the mud now in terms of the rumor mill and all this Kyrie Irving he has demanded trades he's been moved he's been free agents he's bounced around a lot of different places and by all accounts I'll dive into the legitimate reports everything that's come out regarding this Dallas Mavericks situation this is by no means a guaranteed trade request or anything like that but these things with Kyrie Irving you've seen the relationship the clips that came out with him and Kevin Durant building up their relationship publicly getting things going out there in those avenues these are things that can't be swept under the rug with Kyrie Irving by any stretch of the imagination we know Kawhi has stated he's trying to become a bit more of an online presence now given the fact his career is coming at the end he doesn't think he'll be seen a lot after his career so he's building up these things and this is where you see a lot of this stuff happening so what's going on so fan spot at Kyrie Irving um you know the instagram connection the original post uh corrected the follow direction and add smokes to the existing debate does this actually justify a move well what's going on what's the smoke versus the evidence that's actually happening well Dallas earlier this summer all right they came out and said no we're not going to trade Kyrie Irving we want to see something go down we want to see stuff happen Mavs stand firm this summer they're standing on business we're not trading Kyrie Masai Ujiri comes in we're not trading Kyrie and then you have this viral Toronto Raptors mock trade that came out by Bleacher Report that was literally sent everywhere over the course of August you know people were talking about it then people were saying hey could come the trade deadline a Kyrie Irving trade go down you know you had these ESPN reports come out regarding that situation and now over the past few days we've had reports about hey the Detroit Pistons are really interested in making a move we know nothing leaks on the Toronto Raptors side and now the Dallas Mavericks they have Masai Ujiri out there in house so nothing's going to leak about reported trade discussions or talks or anything like that but you get this Kawhi Leonard following uh Kyrie Irving in terms of everything that's going down so what's happening out there regarding the situation well this is the full report from Vince Goodwill saying the Pistons and several staffers are uh fond of Kyrie Irving's game shot creation and malleability next to ball dominant stars like uh you know LeBron James and Luka Doncic so of course they have Cade Cunningham out there on that squad out there on that team we're getting new rumors we're getting new updates about moves coming out and teams being interested in Kyrie Irving everything publicly however people are saying I'm looking forward to growing and seeing how this team develops happens over the next few years Kyrie continuing to state the long-term vision state the long-term desire to be out there in Dallas and then you also have this you know the Pistons have indeed shown interest and Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving in the past per multiple sources, but Dallas remains adamant about keeping Kyrie Irving and he also wants to stay with the Mavericks. These are all the things. These are all the reports. These are everything that comes out. So even with these changes in terms of moves and people talking about Kyrie Irving following this, and we do have some comments regarding Bobby Webster that indicate more moves coming. He's been adamant about this in every interview he's talked about and more fuel's been added to the fire in that stance. We'll discuss all of that everything coming out from the Dallas Mavericks side is Kyrie Irving wants to be there the front office even though the timeline's a little bit off a little bit weird they're not going to make any moves now come the trade deadline that's when things get a little bit different and looking at the Toronto Raptors cap situation you have Kawhi Leonard you're under contract for the next three seasons a lot of money tied up but this is your championship window while you still have a prime Kawhi Leonard and the reason people are discussing this is because you need to upgrade this roster the best way you can and people are saying Kyrie Irving will be a significant upgrade out there over Emmanuel Quickly now is this the case statistically taking Kyrie Irving's last season that he played that he was healthy there are is no ifs ands or buts about it Kyrie is definitely the better player 25 points per game five rebounds five assists 60 true shooting I mean all of his advanced stats are just phenomenal and that year he was having one of the best you know similar stuff to what we've been saying about Kawhi Leonard he was having one of the better statistical seasons out there of his career of course Kyrie's had some monster seasons monster performances monster years but Kyrie Irving definitely is a phenomenal basketball player do not get me wrong and if we compare the stats to Emmanuel Quickly last season it's it's not super comparable right basically 10 less points per game 57% true shooting you know 1.3 steals Emmanuel Quickly solid on defense knocks down 37% of his three-point shots but the efficiency especially finishing around the rim Emmanuel Quickley is not the level of player of Kyrie Irving and we're all hoping for a big jump from Emmanuel Quickley this season but over the past couple years with the Toronto Raptors he's remained fairly stagnant when we signed him getting him that starting spot we expected a lot more growth injuries have played a part Raptors tanking have played a part this is a big big year for Emmanuel Quickley but the toughest sell the toughest argument you know on this Emmanuel Quickley Kyrie Irving debate is of course what the price will be and we'll take a look at a couple of mock trades in this scenario what would make a move actually happen but Kyrie Irving didn't play a single game last year right we compare their 25 26 season availability is the best ability ability that's that's the phrase and Kyrie Irving didn't play a single game while Emmanuel Quickley was able to be out there on the basketball court now didn't play in the playoffs so that that is something uh to take a look at but you have to seriously take these things into account right because Kyrie Irving is better he's a better creator he'll be able to facilitate against your more set defenses Kyrie has thrived beside ball dominant stars LeBron James Luka Doncic Kevin Durant all these types of guys a man who quickly protects possessions and supplies range but post ACL movement will be uh you will have to see and apparently Kyrie Irving's playing soon so uh they're playing today so that's something that we'll take a look at and on top of it Kyrie Irving is expensive because Emmanuel Quickley for as much flack as this contract gets if Emmanuel Quickley plays the way he did in game two after this preseason 32 million dollars per year isn't horrible but he has to stay out there on the court and he has to prove it night in night out but the contract for Kyrie Irving makes things a bit more tangly and certainly a bit of a gamble for the Toronto Raptors why is this the case well for as bad as people have been talking about Emmanuel Quickley's contract as being Kyrie Irving's making 10 more million dollars a year or eight more million dollars per year roughly it is two years so you get a bit more flexibility on the back end of that deal but it's uh you know something that you have to look at especially considering the guy tore his ACL out there March 2025 he missed all of last season and he's expected to return today against the Houston Rockets out there in preseason so uh this is the full report So, you know, just trust in these timelines. Kyrie Irving is expected to play Sunday's game, his first game action in nearly 20 months after being held out today. And watching these games, especially for not just the Dallas Mavericks, but any teams interested in trading for Kyrie Irving, it's going to be a big, important factor in terms of whether or not one of I don't think there's a world where the Dallas Mavericks end up buying out Kyrie Irving just given how much money is on the salary but there is a world where they certainly lower their asking price so what are some options what are some stuff that we can look at in terms of uh deals that could go down and we'll cook up we cooked up a couple I got some tools released and I don't want to tease too much this week we have a big big big week for uh the company but we'll uh we'll play with some of these tools that we have so uh the first one Kyrie Irving and derek lively coming back to the toronto Raptors and then this one has Emmanuel Quickly, jakob pertl going out to the to the dallas Mavericks and then we trade our first round swap that's already swapped with the the LA Clippers so it's going to be the worst pick the Clippers Raptors deal as well as the 2029 first couple first out there for the Toronto Raptors you know if you take a look at this lineup Derek Lively is a guy that's dealt with a bunch of injuries as well so that's a reason this could be made that this deal could potentially go down but this roster healthy looks massive this health like assuming this roster is healthy we still need a bit more depth out there in the front court but having a lob threat out there in Derek Lively to block shots he's not as established but this is your high risk high swing giving up multiple draft picks this is your go big or go home type of trade and Kyrie Irving definitely is a significant upgrade is we took a look at their stats and stuff you basically have to count on Derek Lively staying healthy which is crazy because that's a big big risk Kyrie Irving staying healthy big big risk but this is your go big or go home move that's the reality of uh the type of deal the type of move that's going to happen you're gonna have to give up picks to get Kyrie Irving that's just the asking price right now but it's uh that's your go big or go home move what are what's another trade that doesn't isn't as substantial but uh it's still a lot of big you know this is a lesser return probably more likely that the Dallas Mavericks accept this trade but Emmanuel Quickley RJ Barrett going out a couple picks the consensus right now is you're gonna have to give up a couple picks for Kyrie Irving and getting back PJ Washington and Kyrie Irving less high upside but PJ Washington is a more established player uh would he start probably not with the current group that we have may slide into that uh the RJ Barrett role Jacoby Walter could be in that slot but uh you know Scotty Barnes this is not the right depth chart that i cooked up but uh you know my tech is growing it's getting better it's uh you know improving but slot flip Scotty Barnes there Call Mary Williams isn't going that deep in the depth chart it'll be the backup but this fortifies your front court a little bit more in terms of players that you actually have on this team and it's less of a risk than Derek Lively but you don't have that high upside yeah the high upside of Derek Lively is is big but the price of upgrade right Lively's foot adds another health gamble to this team the Washington package you know it costs RJ which I've been adamant about not having happen neither of these trades are probably deals like go down you consider the Derek Lively one just because you get off of two contracts but Dallas may prefer its current veteran leader CMB you know keep CMB out of there's no world we end up trading CMB in any of these packages and the final big factor which I briefly mentioned a couple times is Masai Ujiri signed a lot of these contracts he gave he traded for Jakob Poeltl traded for Emmanuel Quickley gave the big extension to Quickley the Jakob Poeltl extension was in the works he likes these players he likes these players that is something you do have to take into account relationships and all these types of things when factoring different trades am I accepting either of these trades no I like RJ Barrett too much to do the other one but uh we saw this one from uh Cam Hutch saying i trade quickly and Yakka for two picks and Kyrie and Lively so you had this deal before my uh trade generator ended up picking it up shoutout Cam there we'll see we'll see what uh what happens i'm probably saying no to either of these deals you have to give up some value to get those are all things you have to take a look but uh the final thing is uh Bobby Webster adding a bit more fuel to this fire as he had some comments regarding uh why he made the Kawhi Leonard trade again he's been asked about this a thousand times and it's adding more fuel to a more another move happening basically his vision what's happening with the team i always tell people you keep tabs on the top players the best players in the league their status and you're sort of checking in on them always talking about the Kawhi Leonard deal so this was in the works for a long time his desire to bring in Kawhi Leonard and add him to this group Kawhi was on that list someone we always had on that list and he said this you have Jamal Jacoby Colin playing huge minutes in game seven Jamison battle off the bench and inferred they earned this this opportunity a trade for Kawhi to go all in on this situation which the the undertones to this this team is all in they believe in this core group they believe the young guys they earn this with what they're by playing so they they have also a bit of cap room as well to make a move happen just over the luxury tax a little bit which does handcuff a little bit in different trades but they aren't they aren't over the first apron they can add some wiggle room to stay under that first apron which is going to make the rumors fly all
