It's been a great start to the 2026-27 season in terms of points,
but the injuries have been
scary, but the Cats just got some great news.
This is Panthers Digest, guys. I'm your host,
Greg Andrews. Comment, like, share, subscribe, hype up the video.
I appreciate all of you guys
tuning in, supporting me, supporting the channel,
and the Florida Panthers.
I already reported on it yesterday.
The news broke from Pierre LeBrun that, or LeBrun, that
Marchand was going to be missing weeks, not months.
I'm still waiting for the exact report from Paul Maurice
or someone in the Florida Panthers organization.
I'm sure we will get word sometime today,
maybe later this morning after practice.
We'll see. But major news outlets,
sports outlets are reporting great news about Brad Marchand,
great news about Sasha Barkov
and even Sasha Barkov had something to say about his injury
we're gonna get into all that on this episode
so let's dive right into it right now guys
reports are Brad Marchand is out a few weeks
that's it with a leg injury I know some of you
out there were commenting that sure
as hell looked like it was going to be season ending
I thought so too I think a lot of the Panthers fans
when they kept showing that replay again
and again from all the different angles
that leg got caught underneath him and bent so awkwardly
the way a leg is not meant to bend i seriously thought we
were going to be seeing season ending
what's going to happen with his career it
was it looked like it was a massive massive injury
to the leg again we're still waiting
on exactly what we're looking at in terms of the damage to
the knee or possibly even his ankle or his hip.
Obviously, it's looking more like it's a knee,
probably grade two MCL sprain.
As a doctor had pointed out, a lot of people have been catching
up to that. After I posted yesterday, they were saying,
oh, this doctor is saying it looks like
MCL, not an ACL or anything else. Just that.
I just think he went down, stretched the hell out
of it, micro tears all over the place, grade two,
this is what we're looking at. So the good news
to make it even better thing pile up here we go
the expectation is that forward Brad Marchand will
be fine in a few weeks per source it's
not season ending he could be back sometime in november
again we're expecting more details
from Paul Maurice hopefully sometime today ignore the 51
minutes i obviously got this off uh x yesterday uh later in the evening
but it's really good news
because the flip side of this,
when we're talking about Sasha Barkov now,
and this is Jordan McPherson saying,
like, we've dodged a massive, two massive bullets.
We're looking at with the injuries,
Barkov six to eight weeks,
Marchand looking like the same thing.
So we could get Barkov and Marchand back
possibly around the same time,
mid-November, end of November.
So we can get both these guys back
right around the same timeframe.
Hopefully that's the case.
Again, the definitive what is going on will come
from Paul Maurice later today, I'm sure.
I'm going to be traveling,
so if I don't have an episode out, please be patient.
I will get one out later this afternoon,
but I wanted to give you guys just this insight
right now as to what was going on with Brad Marchand.
Is there an update?
Well, this was it, because ESPN was even reporting on this,
stating that he's only going to be
out weeks, several weeks.
so if all like if ESPN's reporting on it stating
that then I'm gonna take it but I still want to
hear it from Paul Maurice
and I'll share his information later today by the way the idiots
out there saying that my channel's clickbait
if you watch the whole damn video it's not the last
one where I said if this is true whatever
the reason why I put that in there is because if it
was true that Brad Marchand was only going to miss
a few weeks not months it does change everything
for the Florida Panthers in terms of,
do they need to get a free agent? Do they not need to
get a free agent? Do they place them on LTIR?
Do they not place them on LTIR? That's, that's the
whole reason why I put that there. Same thing for Sasha Barkov.
Like, come on guys, like stop being
an a-hole and just trying to down my channel
because it's better than the one that you guys
have or because you just don't like the Florida Panthers.
So suck it. Anyways, keep moving forward
here. Here we go. Captain Alexander Barkov has said,
after receiving the key to the city of
Boca Raton. No, mind you. I'm confident I'll be back soon.
I know they said six to eight weeks.
We all know how hard he worked in the offseason to rehab that knee
and even during the season
last year. This is coming from Will Manso, by the way.
Very reliable source. He is really happy
about the news that he got about his knee.
I've got a lot of things to show you here about what
Sasha Barkov had to say that it was an absolute scare.
Yes. But here is what the captain had to
say I've received really good news really happy about
that they said I'm taking my annual vacation
that's okay yes the players on the team
and the coaching staff have been kind of busting his you
know what's just stating like okay he took off
all season last year got a good amount of rest
and rehabbed his knee and then he's taking
his time off again this year just to be ready for
the rest of it love the way that everybody's kind
of messing with him a little bit I think it's
wonderful and uh yeah I'm just I'm very happy
with what we're hearing about Sasha Barkov and this is
what he had to say going forward about last year
and then what's happening this year says last year
was tough so my first thought was do i have
to go through that again i just started playing uh
just started to be with the team and did this happen again
but then obviously really good news
came pretty soon after that knowing i have
a good team behind me doctors physio physios they're
going to take good care of me
and yes they are Barkov they're going to try to get you ready
to rock hopefully earlier
but again i don't say rush him back i think we're gonna be fine if it's
gotta be six weeks great if it's five weeks okay
if it's eight weeks good if it's 10 weeks whatever
take your time let's just make sure he's
at a hundred percent all right that was a hell of a
scare same thing with with Brad Marchand don't rush
the guy back take your time let's see what
happens test that thing out as much as you possibly can
because i don't want to have another scare
the fans don't want to have another scare we know
the team doesn't want to have another scare like
this I think it's just been pure bad luck to start
the season with these two guys going down the way
they did but they're holding serve right now they played great through
the first four games six of
eight points awesome here's Barkov finishing up
with what he said I promise I'll be back in the
Panthers uniform very soon so a lot of optimism obviously
so I'm thrilled to hear this Brad
Marchand his knee injury is not anywhere near what we all had feared it
was going to be now this is
again it's not coming from the Florida Panthers
organization Paul Maurice it's coming from other
news outlets Pierre LeBrun broke this yesterday
and said that according to his sources other
insiders are saying it's going to be weeks not months
then you you already saw Bom Gardner Alex
Bom Gardner already said it's looking like he could have
a return in november so we're looking
pretty much at the same time frame as Barkov.
That's six to eight weeks,
which puts him in line of having a grade two MCL sprain.
Really, really good news for the Cats.
I am super relieved.
I hope all of you are relieved.
Again, I should have something out later today
once Paul Maurice comes out,
gives a little bit more information on what is going on,
more so with Marchand than Sasha Barkov.
We already know what's going on with Barkov,
but maybe they'll divulge
what the hell the injuries actually are.
It would be nice to know that.
But it's more about time frame than it is on the actual injury itself.
So it remains to be seen.
We'll wait.
Be patient.
Keep your eyes out for another episode
coming up later today on all of that.
So that's it for this episode of Panther's Digest.
Guys, again, comment down below.
How do you feel about learning this information?
If you've already known about it, great.
If not, glad you found it here first.
But anyways, tell me what you think about Brad Marchand, Sasha Barkov.
How do you feel about the team moving forward,
keeping this core together,
and just letting these two guys rehab it out
come back we don't need to bring anybody in
give me your thoughts or do you want
to actually get Teros in I don't think we need him but hey we'll
see how it goes comment down below let me
know what you think until next time go cats
