The Bruins Just Got a MASSIVE Contract Update...
Oct 8, 2026
New information has been revealed surrounding the ongoing contract negotiation with Pavel
Zaka as new details have been released which is not putting the Bruins in the best spot.
We're going to be breaking it down as well as going over what possibilities the Bruins
would have if they choose not to re-sign Pavel Zaka.
Folks, we have a lot to break down here in today's video as this is the first big drop
of information surrounding a Pavel Zaka contract extension that we've gotten throughout this
regular season so far and if you want to stay up to date with everything going on with this
Boston Bruins team as we are, well, already into the start of the season, be sure to subscribe
to the channel.
We have a lot of stuff coming.
You will not want to miss it.
Help us get to our goal of 9,000 subscribers.
I appreciate all your guys' support every day throughout these videos and we have a
lot of stuff coming.
You will not want to miss it.
I want to get straight into this video because Pavel Zaka is asking for some big money and
you know that to this point has been confirmed and you see this right here from David Pagnotta.
This guy is asking for big bucks and I mean, there was a lot of speculation surrounding
what the value would be for Pavel Zaka and it still remains to be around that 9 to 10
maybe even 11 million dollar market but the thing is, we don't really know because of
what the new market is like.
We don't know what the Bruins are really prepared to do or prepared to offer and we don't necessarily
know for sure what Pavel Zaka's demand or request is.
We had an idea prior to the offer sheet to Leo Carlsen and it was still around that 8
to 9 million dollar mark so all signs are pointing to that being significantly higher
and we do have an idea about what it could be and it's looking like it's more than double
of what he's making right now depending on the term of the overall contract and let that
sink in for a second folks because that is something to really take a look at and we're
going to do that here in a second but before we do that folks, we have a word from the
sponsor of this video, Anson Belt & Buckle.
You know what ruins a great outfit really fast?
An old beat up belt that doesn't fit right.
Most guys are still wearing the belts, stretched out holes that either pinch your waist or
snag and just throw off your whole look.
That's why I'm excited to have Anson Belt & Buckle as a sponsor of today's video.
Instead of holes, Anson uses the micro adjustable track system with quarter inch increments
so your belt fits perfectly every single time.
Once you experience that kind of fit and comfort, trust me, you will never want to wear a regular
belt again.
I've been wearing mine non-stop and honestly, it's the best I've ever owned.
Once you try it, trust me, you'll never go back to old belts and if you're wondering
why you should trust them, this company that has a proudly family owned and operated has
earned over 40,000 five star reviews with a lifetime guarantee.

but Pablo Zaca's current deal for those who saw prior to this is $4.75 million.
So taking a look at what double would be, that's sitting at 9.5 and we know that at
this point right now, 9.5 would probably be a steal for many players in the NHL but I
think that question still remains for Pablo Zaca because he's 29 years old, unknowing
the term whether it could be five, six or seven years, that would put him on the other
side of 35 which still wouldn't be a bad contract because we know how much the cap is going
up but the thing is the Bruins need to decide what they want to do because Pablo Zaca has
leverage, they also have leverage and Zaca's been very good last year, I mean that's why
he's projected to get such a big deal.
Sitting at you know a 22.9 shooting percentage which is very good, sitting a little under
a point per game, not necessarily best on defense but he fits exactly what a second
line center should be, providing that very good split of offense and just overall team
play.
There's been a lot of ideas of you know trades, we've seen it all so far, we've seen so many
trade you know kind of reports, all ideas, that they're still shopping Zaca from last
season till at this point right now and you see this from David Pagnotta, he's been dangled
or at least discussed in other trade talks as Boston looks to improve overall and you
know I don't really think we've known exactly what he's been in but I think we can take
a guess that it may have been Karol Marchenko, it may have been Dylan Larkin, it may have
been if they've offered yet for Simone Evanson, may have been him as well.
He seems to be a big centerpiece as well as a first round pick for really any deal that
Boston is going to try and make for the time being simply because you're making it easier
to not have to go through a negotiation where you're going to be dishing out a lot of money
for someone who would improve your team overall.
So it's going to be interesting to see where things actually go from the Bruins decision
making but you see this right here as well, why it all matters, Zaca's on the final year
of his deal, they've already discussed trading him, you know that's going to be lingering
until about, I would go with March as a deadline, you know of course the trade deadline in March
but you know the decision's going to be made about a month before that in my mind and then
they're going to search on what the plan would be, the extension talks still have a
significant gap and his value is the strongest for the deadline if no deal is reached so
they could be just waiting to see when his value gets to the highest point because right
now he hasn't scored a point yet this season, he's asked about it if there's any concern,
I think there's zero concern whatsoever because you know what Pavel Zaca is, you know how
good of a player he is, it's just a matter of time until he gets that and continues on,
I mean he's playing near 20 minutes of time on it as a game because he's been jumping
up the first line with Fraser Mitton after Elias Lindholm would jump off the line but
they have, you know, they have a special guy here that can have quite a significant amount
of trade value, I'd put it close to Kuro Marchenko but not exactly as high as that, really close,
I think it's closer to some other names than Marchenko but just in recent memory, think
about it as a little bit less than what he got in return but Boston still does have leverage
because they don't necessarily need Pavel Zaca, you see this here from David Pagnotta
as well, they've got depth down the center position, they have Mitton, Elias Lindholm
there, you know that James Higgins can play there, you know that you can have Dean Letourneau
in a couple of years, you know you can maybe trade for one, let's just say Dylan Larkin
as a name that, you know, fills in the hole for now for the time being, they have a lot
of names down the middle that could've replaced Pavel Zaca if they, first of all, don't get
a trade done, if they don't like the deals they're getting and are trying to get rid
of him, they don't need him necessarily although he is, you know, a very, very good player
and you know, wouldn't be super easy to match up and I mean, if you're going off last season,
Pavel Zaca did have the hand, you know, the upper advantage I guess we could say of the
offensive stats and I mean, that's from the line, we saw that line of Harvard in the middle
so that'd be really, really good last year but you know that Frasier Minton's getting
more advantage this year, Elias Lindholm's still that first line guy but if you find
a spot where he actually has success, he could very well match up with Pavel Zaca's stats
this season, last season so, you know, although Pavel Zaca still has the upper hand here on
this graphic from last year's stats, this to me isn't, you know, a crazy, crazy difference
from what we may see this year from Frasier Minton specifically in this one but even if
you, like I said, find the way that Elias Lindholm can play the best, he could very
well be up in that as well, now they did kind of change up a few lines which gives Pavel
Zaca a little bit more of an opportunity, putting him between Kaki, Geeky and Pasternak
but there's still a lot of ideas that could happen, whether they actually do continue
these lines, this is what was at practice today, shuffled up a bit, you're gonna get
more ice time for Pavel Zaca, he's gonna perform better this season, you know, presuming that
more ice time translates to better offense for him indeed, if value gets up, you can
trade him, you know, you can really get a specific need with Pavel Zaca being in a trade
so it works out very, very well, playing with Pasternak is gonna work out good, playing
with Geeky is gonna work out good and he's still on the power play one so there's quite
a few things that they can kind of decide from here as well, so it really could go either
way and, you know, that's what Pierre Lebrun thinks as you see right here, there's really
no direction that is, you know, a clear point out for these insiders surrounding this decision,
there's still really, you know, no indication on which it's gonna be but I think right now
if I'm to guess, it's gonna lean more towards a trade and you see this Pierre Lebrun giving
his, you know, reasoning as to why, he's 29 years old, I think the Bruins are worried
about long-term commitment and how he will age, or how it will age, excuse me, so you
don't want to have another kind of situation like you are currently in with Elias Lindholm
who is having $7.75 million, not the greatest player on the lineup, so you don't want another
situation like that for a couple more years, so folks, give me your thoughts on this, what
would you do down below, would you A, extend Zaka even if it's a major raise, B, set a
firm price to trade him if he won't take it, or C, keep him as in, you know, your own rental
if Basim is contending, give me your thoughts on that down below, but that is all I have
here in this video, if you did enjoy, give it a like, hit the sub button as well, I'm
signing out, thank you for watching, hope you have a great day, peace.
