The Bills MASTER PLAN has been revealed...
Sep 30, 2026
What Bills defensive coordinator Jim Leonard said at yesterday's press conference should have
Bills fans fired up. As with an impressive performance versus the Los Angeles Chargers
now in the rearview mirror, the defense now has their sights set on the New England Patriots as
they hope to replicate and even improve upon that performance. So today we'll be taking a look at
how the Bills are preparing for their Week 4 matchup, including the highlights from Jim Leonard's

And ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to declare that it is officially Patriots Hate Week,
my absolute favorite week of the NFL regular season. Yes, I love it more than Chiefs Week.
I love it more than Ravens Week. I love it more than Jets or Dolphins Week. I look forward to
Patriots Week every single year and this year even more so because the Bills have a chip on
their shoulder. They are trying to reclaim that AFC East crown that was so rightfully stolen from
the fraud Patriots last year. And look, I'll just come out and say it right now. I am Drake May's
number one hater. I will plant my flag firmly in that territory. I've been his number one hater
since last year and I'm so happy that people are finally starting to wake up and see Drake May for
the quarterback that he truly is. He is not a top 10 quarterback. He's not even a top 15 quarterback
in this league and I will die on that hill until the day Drake May retires. But okay, let's just
pretend for a second that Drake May hasn't been off to an absolutely atrocious start to his 2026
season, which he almost certainly has. Let's say he was playing at this MVP level that he was playing
last year. I still think that the Bills are going to handle Drake May, even if he did play well those
first three weeks. And that the reason for that is one man in particular. That's right. I'm talking
about Jim Leonard. And let's just give a massive shout out to Jim Leonard real quick because what
he did in week three versus the Chargers after the Bills offense committed five turnovers.
Holding the Chargers to 16 points was very, very, very impressive. Especially after the entire
narrative around his Bills team the first two weeks was this defense is not going to get it
done. They gave up 31 points in back-to-back weeks to the Texans and the Lions and people were saying
if the Bills are going to lose games, it will be because of the defense. That was not the case
in week three. So what Jim Leonard did very impressive. I am very excited to see what this
defense does going forward and Jim Leonard has very a lot a lot of experience with dealing with
Drake May and he knows what Drake May is capable of. But this is why I am so fired up as a Bills
fan after what this Jim Leonard quote says because let's just go ahead take a look at this right here.
This is what he said when asked about Drake May's struggles this year. He said look you turned the
tape on from last year. It was dynamic. He was playing at a really high level. Obviously, he had
some slip-ups in the playoffs. You're watching a guy now you can tell he's going through some stuff
and look guys I know I'm hating on Drake May but I love the way that Jim Leonard is approaching
this. Yes, Drake May has had a terrible start to the 2026 season. He's by far the worst quarterback
in the NFL this year if you ask me, but you can't treat him like that. If you're the Bills defensive
coordinator Jim Leonard, you cannot treat him like that. You have to do you do have to view him
as the MVP runner-up. I don't have to view him as that but Jim Leonard does. So as they prepare
for the Patriots, they need to prepare for the Drake May that scores five touchdowns against the
defense that can't cook that can't even get a single turnover in 2025. They have to prepare
for that version of Drake May even if their defense is loads better than pretty much every
single defense that Drake May played throughout last year on in his MVP runner-up campaign and
I will break down why I am so high on Jim Leonard and all of this in just a second. But first I've
to let you guys know that today's video is sponsored by Calshi and on Calshi you're trading
directly against other users not the house like traditional sports books. You're buying yes or no
contracts on the outcome of events across sports politics or even the weather and this is why I
bring up Calshi right now because usually I talk about the Bills but today I'm going to mix it up.
I have to stand on business here plant my Drake May hater flag and take a look at the passing
interception leader for this year and somehow Drake May is not number one on this list. He's
behind Dak Prescott and Tyler Shuck which is just insane to me. Drake May has six touchdowns to or
six interceptions to one touchdown. I mixed it up because it's just so mind-blowingly bad how bad he
was. So of course I'm going to say yes to Drake May being the touchdown or the passing interception
leader this year. So if you agree like me you can place $25 on Calshi right now and if Drake
May does lead the NFL in interceptions at the end of the season which he will you can win $130 in
return. So look you can see Drake May fail spectacularly and win money in doing so. That
is a great deal and if you are interested in trying out Calshi use the link in the description
trade $25 with code DigestNFL and get $55 added to your account instantly. Thank you once again
to Calshi for sponsoring today's video. All right look I'm gonna pull up the stats here this is what
Drake May did last year. I know there's a lot of green a lot of good over 4,000 passing yards
33 touchdowns on eight interceptions 77 passer rating but this is like I said going up against
defenses like the Jets last year that didn't bring in a single interception. Drake May struggled in
the playoffs that's no secret last year and you know who was behind his worst game of the playoffs
in the AFC championship? Well of course that was Jim Leonard and look at what Jim Leonard
held Drake May to in this game. You can see it there at the bottom I'm going to
pull this up full screen just so you can really take a look at that 10 of 21 on 86 passing yards
five sacks by far the worst game of Drake May's 2025 season was against Jim Leonard's Broncos and
I know what you're saying there the talent on the Bills defense is not as good as the talent
on the Broncos defense and sure maybe it's not right now but Jim Leonard has the blueprint to
shut down Drake May take into account how terrible Drake May has been playing throughout the first
three years or through the first first three games this year it's not even close if you ask me
Drake May is in trouble in this game I am firmly in that camp and a big reason I'm so confident in
this is because of one player in particular that of course being Greg Rousseau who is off to a
absolutely monster start to his 2026 campaign you see there six sacks in three games he's on pace
for 34 sacks which would absolutely shatter the NFL sack record for the season obviously he is due
to slow down there's no way he gets 34 sacks this year that would be absolutely insane but you look
any major category for edge rushers and Greg Rousseau will be at the top force fumbles with
three he's at the top four QB hits for win rate it's it's insane what Greg Rousseau has done this
year and he's getting early defensive player of the year buzz for good reason and don't think
Jim Leonard isn't aware of this because he had very high praise for Greg Rousseau today he said
obviously when it looks right with Greg it's pretty and I mean the ability to win consistently with
his power with his length and just continually pushing and affecting the pocket like the
consistency that he can do that with it's a lot of fun right now and he feels it and look this is
the key for the Bills defense the entire year not just in week four against the Patriots the entire
year this is the motor for the Bills and with how well Greg Rousseau is playing it makes the rest of
and what do I mean by that well Jim Leonard was asked what if how do you slow down Greg Rousseau
like what what if he regresses how do you how do you prevent that from happening and I love
Jim Leonard's answer here also because he said this about Greg Rousseau also you have to understand
that offenses are going to make adjustments he's going to draw a lot of attention and that's why
the rest of the group is what the rest of the group is doing is equally as impressive
so just that group as a collective if they continue to play as well as they are and as
connected as they are right now that makes it extremely difficult for offenses to target he's
talking about guys like Deion Walker, Ed Oliver, Bradley Chubb who if the opposing offenses do
decide to double team Greg Rousseau with the monster pace he's playing at that opens the door
and for them to get after the quarterback and apply the pressure and it just I know this is
football one-on-one but it creates that feedback loop where then the teams have to start focusing
on Ed Oliver on Deion Walker on Bradley Chubb giving Greg Rousseau once again more opportunities
to perform at a high level and I just I love I love what the Bills are building here and I just
expect this to get better and better every single week but let me know what you guys think about
Greg Rousseau's performances so far this year how many sacks will Greg Rousseau have will he break
the record will he have 23 plus sacks or will he just miss it 22 to 20 will it be around 19 to 15
a very good season for a defensive player in general will it be 14 to 10 kind of regress back
to the median or will he just absolutely follow the player and get less than 10. I'm gonna go
with the 19 to 15 category here I think that's pretty reasonable there's no way that he maintains
a two sack per game pace but still I do think he will score or that he will record 15 plus sacks
this year but let me know what you guys think in the comments below and that is all the time that
we have for today we will have a ton of more Patriots content coming your way throughout this
entire week I should say anti-Patriots comment content Patriots hate content I am extremely
excited for that so keep it right here on Bills Digest if you don't want to miss any of that
as always thanks for watching and of course Go Bills!
