Are you a chonky monkey? I kept saying you was a chonky monkey and Jamie kept saying,
nah, she's not a chonky monkey.
You know what they say, when it rains it pours.
Good wonderful beautiful morning Pawdience.
Jamie's outside cleaning up some of the leftover squirrel pieces.
And he's gonna go in the backyard and clean up a few more of the leaves,
because we got a little bit of sun today.
So the other day took Memphis to the vet and we finally,
hopefully figured out what's going on with her.
She's on some medication.
So far she seems to be doing good on the medication.
This dog is the dog that has decided to give us trouble today.
Don't freak out, okay?
Don't freak out.
Not you, you guys.
Don't freak out.
Kira had an upset stomach two nights ago and she got up like twice in the middle of the night.
It wasn't super bad, but she didn't feel good.
I actually ended up sleeping out here on the couch till like 3 30 in the morning,
because I didn't want her to feel like she had to keep running up and down the hallway to come get us.
So I slept out here for a little while with her when she was finally settled.
We went to bed.
She slept through the night.
The next day she went to the bathroom.
Everything seemed mostly okay, like she was getting better.
And then late that night, same issue.
This morning...
I know, I know you don't feel good.
This morning she went outside and her...
Let's just say that her poos was not a very pretty color.
There's a very deep red color.
So we're in panic mode and I called the vet.
They were double booked.
I told them what was going on.
I thought I was going to be heading to Traverse City.
They got me in at 1 30, which actually is just in a few minutes.
We're going to be leaving here to take Miss Kira to the vet.
So we're going to take Kira to the vet now.
Before some of you get down in the comments and go,
how come your dogs are always sick?
Trust me, I know 99% of you guys don't think that.
You forget that we share everything on the internet and we have three dogs.
So with three dogs, things happen.
I don't have to tell you guys what's going on with Kira.
I don't have to share this.
I don't have to post about it.
Which is what most people who have dogs that have issues.
They don't post every time they take their dogs to the vet.
They don't say anything, you know?
So you...
Because of what we do, I think...
Again, not all of you, but I think a handful of you feel like we're always at the vet.
Don't worry, sometimes I feel like we're always at the vet too.
I could not take her to the vet.
Wouldn't that be...
No, that's not a thing.
That's not an option.
I know for some people, that's just what they would do.
They would go through and they would like try all these things before taking her.
Not an option for me.
She's pooping blood.
Not a lot.
Don't freak out.
Don't... I don't want to freak you guys out.
That's the worst part about it.
I don't want to freak you guys out.
The reality is this dog don't feel good.
I'm taking her to the vet.
This is also a great time to remind you guys...
You dripped on your...
You dripped on your paw there.
A great time to remind you guys that you should have an emergency fund set up for your dog.
Dogs are expensive.
I do not have pet insurance.
When we got quotes for pet insurance the last time, it was ridiculous.
They wanted like $150 a month for Memphis or for Kira.
Memphis was over $200.
She's 11 and a half.
What do you expect?
And then Eleanor, I think was at like a hundred or a little over a hundred.
So instead of taking those three amounts and paying for pet insurance,
I take that and I put it into their emergency fund.
And then of course, you know, there's other things.
Sometimes you guys send us things in the mail and it specifically says, you know,
Oh, this is for your dog's vet bills.
That goes into the account when we've done GoFundMes before.
We've put some of that money away.
And then of course we pay it forward.
I actually use my own vet fund to pay it forward sometimes to other dogs in need.
Things like that.
So that's kind of how we do it.
That's how we operate.
But I highly, highly, highly suggest starting an emergency fund for your dogs.
Even if you're only putting $10 a month into it.
You know, like your dogs can go for a really long time and have no issues.
$10 a month.
It does add up over time.
And like I said, it's for emergencies.
We pay our normal vet bills as normal.
The emergency fund is for emergencies.
Like today, you're a little bit of an emergency.
You're probably going to cost us a pretty penny today
because they're going to want to run some tests, but that's okay.
We'll be all right.
Right?
Yeah, I know.
She's like, I feel okay.
She looks really sad right now.
I should have...
She was spunky a few minutes ago.
I should have filmed them, but it is what it is.
But anyway, we got to get ready to go to the vet.
Want to go to the vet?
You and me?
Let's go.
What did we learn, Kira?
Are you a chonky monkey?
I kept saying you was a chonky monkey and Jamie kept saying,
Nah, she's not a chonky monkey.
You're 47 pounds.
You're not supposed to be that big.
We're going on a mini diet.
That's what's going to happen.
We're just waiting for them to come in and see what's going on.
Look, I have a giant bruise on my arm.
You really can't do that.
So basically, we're going to give her some medicine for the next two days.
And if nothing changes by Friday, we'll take her back in.
We'll get her an antibiotic.
But as you can see there, she's feeling pretty good.
Yeah, this is proof.
So you guys don't worry about Kira.
Here's some proof of how she's feeling.
Get her, Kira.
Get her.
Where's your Nana toy?
Speaking of the banana toy, we got some mail.
We'll insert that clip here.
Ran to the post office, picked up some mail.
That's for you.
This is from Sandy and Audie.
Eleanor's like, this is mine.
Kira, leave her alone.
That's hers.
She's like, I know it is.
I'm getting it out of there.
You're pretty good at opening presents.
You sure are.
Oh my goodness.
It's a crinkle squirrel.
And she's gone.
You even want to see what else is in here?
It's like, nope, I got a crinkle squirrel.
I'm happy as can be.
They also sent some treats.
Another gift.
You want your other?
Kira's like, what about me?
No, these were for Eleanor.
See you later, Elle.
And then, some cool spatulas for me for the cooking channel.
You get that one open too?
You're like, I'm making a giant mess getting it open.
You're pretty good at opening stuff.
Like, yeah, I'm ripping it to pieces.
Get this toy out of here.
What is it?
Is it a nana?
Whoa, it's a nana.
Okay, let me get it out of the package.
Can I at least see it?
It's a banana tuft toy.
Thank you for sending that.
She will love it.
So yeah, that was where that came from.
Oh my goodness.
What do you think of those two?
She's like, puppy stuff.
Puppy stuff.
Yeah.
You all look snuggly wuggly.
Memphis, you look a little bit disheveled.
But you all look snuggly wuggly.
We forgot to end the video yesterday.
So it is the next day and Kira is feeling quite a bit better.
The only thing that hasn't happened is she has not gone to the bathroom.
Which is pretty normal.
She'll probably end up going here pretty soon.
But yeah, look at you.
You all look so stinking cute.
But anyway, that's about the only update we have from today.
She seems to be feeling better.
She's on her medication.
You're on medication.
You're the only one that hasn't gone to the vet.
Do me a favor and don't make me take you to the vet.
You got that?
I don't want to take you to the vet, okay?
You went, you went.
Two's good enough.
All right, you guys.
We hope you enjoyed today's video as always.

Eleanor says, hi dad.
Good night, dad.
Even though it's not really night time.
We forgot to say good night last night.
We're gonna go ahead and do that right now.
We hope you guys enjoyed today's video as always.
