She was the longest resident there.
Hi!
Are you sleepy?
That was the cutest thing I've probably ever heard.
I'm Abby, and this is Trout's story for Geobees.
Between the shelter telling us that she was the longest resident there,
the least likely to get adopted,
and her just completely showering us
with love immediately during our appointment,
it was a pretty easy decision to take her home with us.
I think she knew that she was home.
When we arrived home, she would just come up to us and lay on our laps,
or she would sleep with us at night.
She didn't have much of an adjustment period
because she was just immediately so comfortable being with us.
Her tail was severely broken at the base.
When I first saw it, a shockwave kind
of just like went through my entire body
because I couldn't stop thinking about how much that must have hurt
for her to have her tail broken so severely
that she just like can't hold it up straight anymore.
She won't really let us touch it.
The vet too, the vet was trying to examine it
and she was meowing. She seemed like she
was in a little bit of pain when it was being touched,
but day-to-day life, she doesn't seem to be in pain with it at all.
They think some trauma
happens when she was younger as a stray,
and then she just never got the medical care for it to heal
properly, so it just permanently flops onto her back.
She loves meowing at us any chance she gets.
It's almost like she's trying to talk back to us.
Sometimes we'll ask her a question,
or we'll like make a little comment to her
and she just answers in a fluent cat.
She'll just give like the most perfect little meow
and it feels like we know what she's saying,
which is, it's really sweet.
It's okay, baby.
I think she likes the warmth of a human
and I want her to be able to come to me
and feel like I'm a safe person for her.
And I think that's part of the reason
why she's been jumping up on me
and stretching and yawning
and doing all these really sweet, cuddly things with me
when I don't ask her to do them.
Okay, let's not.
she's our little baby i would tell her that she's
not going anywhere that she never has to go back
to a shelter again we are going to take care
of her for the rest of her life good night child
wonder what you'll dream about in a dream
or in a dream little child sleep peacefully good night
