This video explores the speculation surrounding Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's potential roles in *Avengers: Doomsday*. Despite official denials and their absence from cast lists, the narrator argues that Marvel is employing a \"performance of denial\" to orchestrate a surprise appearance, drawing parallels to previous MCU marketing tactics used for major cameos.
It's in the can, bro. Look around you. Did you bump your head? That's Robert Downey Jr.
In July, on a Comic-Con stage, shutting down Ryan Reynolds,
the second Deadpool asked about Avengers Doomsday. Case closed. Except this Friday,
September 25th, 2026, Marvel Studios put brand new Doomsday footage in theaters.
And the four actors a rumor said got cut from Doomsday right alongside Reynolds?
Two of them are in it. Two out of four. Back on the big screen.
So either Marvel really is done with Deadpool, or somebody's been lying to your face for 18
months. By the end of this video, you'll know exactly what that in-the-can line is worth.
Hit like, hit subscribe, and hold on, because this one moves fast.
July 2024. Hall H.
Marvel opens its Comic-Con panel with a full choir belting Madonna's Like a Prayer,
a Deadpool and Wolverine joke sung live. Then Kevin Feige walks out with the number.
Thanks to that movie, the whole franchise just crossed $30 billion at the box office.
30. Billion.
Deadpool isn't a sidekick anymore. He's the guy paying for the party.
March 2025. Marvel reveals the Doomsday cast in the strangest way possible,
with a live stream that runs roughly five hours. It's nothing but director's chairs,
one at a time, each with a name printed on the back. Chris Hemsworth goes first.
Then come the X-Men legends from the old Fox movies The Fantastic Four and The Thunderbolts.
27 names by the end. You already know whose chair never shows up. No Ryan Reynolds,
no Deadpool, and no Hugh Jackman either. The two men who made the multiverse print money
are missing from the biggest multiverse movie Marvel has ever made.
Eight months after a choir sang for Deadpool, Deadpool doesn't even get a chair.
A studio doesn't forget the guy who made it $30 billion. It hides him.
And five months later, Reynolds gives everybody a reason to go looking.
August 2025. Reynolds drops a picture on Instagram,
the Avengers logo with a big spray-painted A tagged right over the top.
Pure Deadpool. Fans go into a frenzy. Is he in Doomsday? Then the answers start landing.
And every single one of them says no, Deadline goes first.
Its sources haven't seen Reynolds on the Doomsday set in London. Worse,
those same sources say he isn't set to appear in the next two Avengers movies at all.
And Deadline's red on the logo? The Free Guy star was just having some fun.
Then Reynolds says it himself. While he's promoting his John Candy documentary,
he tells Entertainment Weekly he hasn't stepped foot on the Doomsday set.
Right around then, a rumor claims he and Robert Downey Jr. are feuding behind the scenes.
People magazine kills it fast. One source says there's zero bad blood.
Another says the two men have never met in person.
Stack it up. Not on set. Not in the next two movies. Not feuding. Not even acquainted.
That's four answers pointing one direction,
and every one of them is exactly what you'd say about a man you're hiding.
And that never-met-in-person line? Hold onto it, because it comes with an expiration date.
So why does the next rumor put Reynolds right back on a chair?
Because somebody says his chair was there the whole time.
June 2026. Cosmic Book News writes up a rumor aimed straight at that five-hour live stream.
According to the Cosmic Book News report,
Marvel's original chair promo had more names on it. Four more.
The claim is that Marvel shot their name reveals,
set their chairs right next to everybody else's, and then pulled all four at the last minute.
The four names in that Cosmic Book News rumor?
Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Owen Wilson, K.E. Highquan.
The first two are easy, because that's Deadpool and Wolverine.
Now look at the other two. Wilson and Kwan play Mobius and OB,
agents of the TVA, the time cops from Loki.
And the last time you saw the TVA in a movie theater? Deadpool and Wolverine.
It's the agency whose rogue boss, Mr. Paradox, tries to wipe out an entire universe in that film.
Every name on that list points to one corner of the multiverse.
Deadpool's corner. And that corner already has one confirmed resident in Doomsday.
Channing Tatum's Gambit made his surprise debut in Deadpool and Wolverine,
and he's coming back for Doomsday.
So Marvel has already pulled one character out of Deadpool's movie and into the Avengers,
just not the one with the mouth.
Remember two of those names, Wilson and Kwan? They're coming back.
Marvel doesn't confirm the rumor, and Marvel doesn't deny it.
It just sits there, a claim from a named outlet with no footage behind it,
while the real chairs stay right where Marvel left them.
Four chairs. Same movie, same day. That's not a scheduling accident, that's a pattern.
And a few weeks later, Reynolds walks straight into the middle of it.
Late July 2026, Hall H, San Diego.
The Doomsday cast is lined up on stage when Robert Downey Jr.,
Marvel's new Dr. Doom, spots a cosplayer in the crowd wearing a gray Deadpool suit.
Who's this guy with the swords and stuff?
A mic comes up. Long-time listener, first-time caller.
It's Ryan Reynolds, in costume, in the audience, at the biggest Marvel panel of the summer.
He calls himself Ricky. One name, he says, like Cher or Madonna.
Downey plays annoyed and asks us if there's a question in there somewhere.
There is.
This seems like an awfully expensive way to announce a film.
When do you start filming?
Downey doesn't miss.
It's in the can, bro. Look around you. Did you bump your head?
A pause.
Then a deflated Deadpool.
Two words. I see.
Translation?
The movie's done. You're not in it.
Sit down. And remember that never-met-in-person line from people.
Months later, those two men are trading lines in Hall H. So much for strangers.
That's the line from the top of this video.
In the can. It gets weighed at the very end,
and it was the headline on this channel earlier this week, so if you caught that one,
watch what's changed since.
Now look at everything around that line.
The week before the panel, Reynolds teases that Deadpool 4 is in the works.
He's already told E.
News there's eventually remotely another Deadpool film.
Remotely. From the guy who just flew to San Diego in full costume.
Right after it, he posts that he feels lucky to be on that Comic-Con floor
ten years after the first Deadpool, and exactly two years after Deadpool and Wolverine.
And he doesn't sneak in quietly.
He gets a mic, a spotlight, and a comeback from the villain of the movie he's supposedly not in.
A lot of fans walk out of that panel reading it one way.
Not Doomsday, maybe, but Secret Wars.
One writer summed up the whole mess in seven words.
Deadpool is in Doomsday. Unless he's not.
Rejection doesn't come with a costume and the loudest room in comics.
Marvel gave Reynolds a stage just to tell him no in public.
And that's a weird way to close a door.
Still here?
Then you already know this isn't over.
There's a date on the calendar that settles all of it.
And more Doomsday footage is coming before that date hits.
Subscribe and ring the bell, because the minute that footage drops,
it gets broken down right here first.
Marvel opens its Doomsday segment with a video,
and the face on screen is Hugh Jackman.
He pitches Kevin Feige directly.
He says he just wanted to check in totally unprompted.
He asks whether Marvel might need some help rounding out the cast.
He'd love to join, he says, and he might even talk Ryan into it.
Then Deadpool heckles from offscreen.
Marvel already has 20-some people in this thing, he cracks, so why would they need these two?
And according to people in the room, he tells Jackman to follow the script.
There's one more line buried in that clip, and fans caught it fast.
Deadpool makes a Deadpool and Spider-Man crack, right in the middle of a Doomsday pitch.
File that one away, because Spider-Man shows up again in about two minutes.
Both men post the clip.
Jackman writes that if it looks like he's recording against his will, it's because he is.
Reynolds calls it a hostage video.
By the next morning, the headlines say it's official.
Wolverine and Deadpool confirmed for Doomsday.
They weren't?
Marvel's own website runs a D23 recap that quotes Jackman's pitch word-for-word.
Then it prints the full Doomsday cast list.
No Jackman.
No Reynolds.
Marvel never said the words.
The officially joining headlines outran the studio, and the studio's own list proves it.
So the confirmation was fake.
But watch what Marvel did with that moment.
It had a room full of fans and a cast list on its own website,
and one sentence would've killed the Deadpool rumor forever.
Instead, Marvel opened its Doomsday showcase with the joke.
That's not how you bury a rumor.
That's how you feed one.
And a month later, somebody claims to know exactly how Doomsday opens.
September 20th, 2026.
Soap Central publishes an alleged leak of the movie's opening scene.
If it's right, Deadpool isn't a cameo.
He's the first act.
According to the Soap Central leak, Doomsday opens in the old X-Men universe.
Professor X looks up and sees another Earth in the sky, hurtling straight at his.
That Earth is the Raimiverse, home of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man.
So who goes in to stop it?
Deadpool and Wolverine carrying a bomb.
The plan is to blow that Earth apart before it slams into theirs.
Then Maguire's Spider-Man shows up.
He takes Wolverine down with him.
And Deadpool barely makes it out.
Deadpool and Spider-Man.
The same pairing Deadpool joked about in that D23 video one month earlier,
on Marvel's own stage.
The same Soap Central write-up claims a post-credits scene circles back to that moment,
and that Spider-Man and Wolverine survive after all.
None of it is confirmed, and Marvel hasn't shown one frame.
But one detail in that write-up comes straight from Hugh Jackman.
Back in 2013, Jackman said the team behind the original Spider-Man movie
tried to squeeze Wolverine into a cameo.
It died for the dumbest reason ever.
The problem was, we couldn't find the suit.
24 years later, a leak puts that exact crossover in the first scene of the year's biggest movie,
with Deadpool standing right next to them.
If that leak is even half-true, Deadpool isn't a walk-on.
He's the opening shot.
So has anyone ever denied a Marvel role this hard and shown up anyway?
Yes.
Same multiverse, different red suit.
May 2021.
Andrew Garfield sits down with Josh Horowitz and gets asked point-blank
if he's in Spider-Man No Way Home.
They might be doing something, but I ain't got a call.
Then he doubles down.
I would've gotten a call by now.
September 2021.
A photo leaks that looks like Garfield and Tobey Maguire in their Spider-Man suits on set.
And Jimmy Falun brings it up on The Tonight Show.
Garfield says,
Not sure about that.
Falun fires back,
We're pretty sure about it.
Garfield laughs it off.
Then he tells Variety it's important to say on the record
that this isn't something he's aware he's involved in.
December 2021.
No Way Home opens.
Andrew Garfield is in it.
Later, he comes clean.
He tells The Wrap it was stressful but weirdly fun.
A massive game of werewolf with journalists.
He says he doesn't like to lie, and he's not a good liar.
He even kept it up with Emma Stone, his own former co-star, who kept texting him to ask.
When she finally saw the movie, she had three words for him.
You're a jerk.
Shame studio.
Same multiverse.
Same straight face.
In Marvel's world, a flat denial on a talk show isn't evidence.
It's a performance.
Garfield turned his into a party game, and it fooled almost everybody watching.
Which brings you to this Friday, September 25th.
Avengers Endgame Encore hits theaters with about four minutes of brand new footage,
plus an extra sneak peek in the premium formats.
And Joe Russo, who directs Doomsday with his brother Anthony,
says it straight.
It's Doomsday story footage shot for the next movie and dropped into this one.
The original Endgame ran 181 minutes.
The Encore runs about 185.
Those extra minutes are there for one reason.
December.
One scene moves Bruce Banner to an underground military base that's supposed to be impenetrable
right before somebody proves it isn't.
So the Hulk is headed for Doomsday.
So what else is in it?
A bonus scene at the TVA.
Owen Wilson's Mobius.
Kaye Highquan's OB Eugene Codero's Casey.
All three of them watching earth after earth from Marvel movie history get wiped out.
Remember those two names?
Wilson and Kwan.
They're two of the four chairs in the cosmic book news rumor.
Two of the four actors that rumor says Marvel pulled right alongside Ryan Reynolds.
And this weekend, both of them walked back onto a movie screen
and footage Marvel shot for Doomsday.
Thirteen months ago, sources said Reynolds wasn't set for the next two Avengers movies.
This Friday, the agency from his movie is back in theaters.
And in that same week, Reynolds and Jackman are still running the bit that they're not in it
and that Marvel should just add them at the last second.
And if you paid premium prices on Friday hoping for one flash of a red suit,
you got a TVA office.
The fans are the only people in this story paying full price for every clue.
Marvel hasn't proven Ryan Reynolds is in Doomsday.
It's just stopped proving he's out.
So here's where it really stands.
On paper, Marvel's own cast list still doesn't have Ryan Reynolds on it.
Deadline sources said no.
Reynolds said he hadn't set foot on the set.
And the last man to answer him face to face,
the villain himself, told him the movie was in the can.
What's being said is louder.
A rumor from a named outlet claimed four chairs vanished, all from Deadpool's corner.
And this week, half of them came back.
An alleged leak puts Deadpool in the very first scene,
and Marvel keeps handing Reynolds microphones instead of closing the door.
What's not proven is the only thing that matters.
Deadpool in Avengers Doomsday.
Not one frame.
Not one official word.
Until December 18th,
in the can is the only answer Marvel has on the record.
And Andrew Garfield already showed you what an on-the-record answer is worth in this franchise.
Your call.
Is Ryan Reynolds hiding somewhere inside Avengers Doomsday?
Or is Marvel just letting a joke sell tickets?
And if he's in it, where does he pop up?
The first scene or the last?
