Welcome into the Disc Golf Network.
You are watching the final event of the year. It is
the Powerball Cup broadcasting live from Lynchburg, Virginia.
We are just about 50 miles southeast
of the Shenandoah Mountain Range.
Taking a look at the stroke advantages. Of course,
these are awarded based on your finish
in the Powerball points standings. Gannon Burr
Starting off at seven under par, Rick is one back,
Calvin and Hemis are two back, and so on.
And we're gonna send it right down to the course.
One of our wild card players, Frithjof from Sweden.
I got the chance to play with Frithjof at the USDGC
in that horrible rainstorm day on day three.
Big birdie putt, he is starting out great.
That's where Ederhold in from the wild card spot
Maple Hill. Knocks one down from distance.
Still going DD3. Great line.
Tracking the bucket.
Fades just in front.
We did not see too many forehand attempts the last couple of seasons.
I see one here. A lot of angle on this Raptor.
Does it have the over stability it needs? Oh it's
gonna jump the hay bales. What a shot from Barella.
I mean first time I saw this I just felt it was
diabolical yeah it's a it's
a scary hole design Tipton even lower does this have the energy takes
the skip over the bales and hits the base Sullivan Tipton what
a read i mean it just look how low it
is out of his hand oh i mean nearly gets the top of the hill
but everything else was right it is a
one shot replay from Tipton
that's a robinson t
of seven across
the pond bullseye q line disc
that Gannon threw on three threw it nearly 600 feet downhill see
if you can get this one up to
a similar speed huge and just perfect
i mean that is you wouldn't change
a thing up onto that second
shelf is a massive drive this is just a dream
spot flat footing go over the top over the trees
work it back it looks perfect that's a park job
for Burr until I just outside C1 the screen does
run away rather quick oh he sinks it wow to become
a co-leader drop in single bogey coming for Hamus
and it over on a little bit of angle getting back to flat
and there we go you set it six and one of
the easier holes on the course
and it appears we're going to have multiple names at double
digits by the end of the day the way things some
of these guys are going so far they're teeing off
on the sixth to miss those trees late it's going
to get a forward skip off of them and that's just
outside the bullseye yeah there's been very few changes
that took place from last year to this
year but this is probably one
of the most significant ones they've cleared out a number
of trees and they've actually brought the basket closer
so this is much more attackable i think
it's about 50 feet closer
and we're seeing a lot more birdies as a result of it and gallery here
loves it what a shot and what a kick for Burr
those guys are both parked robinson wow he finds
the OB on the seventh this for par now oh we're
not used to throwing downhill into such a severe
upslope to a little nose up
a little high just look at the control
for a seven under front nine
he's got it great putt there still
doesn't have a par to his name
he's got three bounce back birdies
already hasn't been much uh tour level action
in the state of Virginia and hopefully that's
something that's changing thanks to the efforts
of the city of Lynchburg it's going to be three
in a row for Burr for his second time today yeah we're
at a higher point and it's coming over his
left shoulder from left to right
but barely significant as he's coming down this hill
yeah i think he's going like splice like almost
like tilt level over stability so it just almost
gets vertical i've been going Firebird
and also a great distance read
a dejected Rick great width
here from Tipton's. Just tracking the bucket. Come on. Wow.
Einberg drills it.
This for four in a row
and for a
four shot lead. Burr to the strong side.
That's four in a row.
Absolutely incredible shot. It's magic when it happens.
Calvin, a lot of width. I'm telling you, this is another fresh
Destroyer in the bag. It's a good one too.
Drop in. Not a lot of margin for error here.
a little bit a great bead it's
a little more aggressive right
and it's gonna sit again and
loving this angle not the intended drive
but it'll be a drop in how steep Heimburg is lining up this
Heiser here he has had
that eight under
is unofficially rated 1056
and Calvin has just
annihilated this Halo Destroyer i mean
this might be his favorite hole in the world
The guys made so many highlights here back
to dead calm once I'm gonna try and air it out with the mid-range
Loving the weight here.
You have less than the circle from front to back.
Gets it up in the air just a
Not a lot of players that I would rather have on a hole like this
I mean he is such a good mid-range thrower
Fantastic touch, him and his brother both the OB on 16 first
Robinson to 17, can he match his younger brother?
It's tracking, it needs to skip
He's gonna match it. Oh, here we go. I'm gonna lay it down.
I think it's a great option. Good angle
There's the safe line, it's a 908 foot hole. Oh my goodness.
Where is this going? Oh my goodness
Oh, it's gonna finish on cut. This is 700.
It's gonna finish on cut. I believe so Sexton
that's the biggest drive i've ever seen
on this hole look at the angle it it crosses this safe
line still screaming and i thought it was about to peel right
but no the angle is absolutely
perfect you can see it recut as it slows down right here
that's squeezing every last bit out
of that shot 700 feet plus it might be close
to 800 now you're gonna put okay the hole is
1,000 feet guys, and I mean he's
150 feet away, right? He's jump putting that just as a flex
To left from the drop zone about 45 feet.
Oh, he's got another one from distance
That was so perfect. What a day
Look at this thing. Not all putts are created equal
and that is a 10 out of 10. No wobble
no doubt we are officially in crunch time Gannon Burr
not going to lay it up this one is on line
catches the willow and a good reaction that's
circle one for Gannon Burr kind of just agreeing
to take on a few branches there they finish bogey
free seven under round one Galvin with the rock
three little bit of hyzer's all he needs here it
comes does it sit down looks good dealing with
this hazard string and i have to think you
were right on that call like that lie didn't seem to
give him too much trouble with how flat it
was this for a five shot lead there it is masterful
performance from Gannon Buhr today making
his intentions crystal clear Gannon Buhr's gonna
shoot the hot round
by three pretty incredible
it's a dream start thanks
