Well, they've been coast to coast and back twice,
overseas and back, and now after a long
2026 season, we descend upon the treacherous Ivy Hill in Lynchburg,
Virginia for the finale
of the 2026 Disc Golf Pro Tour season, the Powerball Cup.
Battling for the biggest payout
in disc golf history, bringing it into the DGN booth,
Brian Earhart, three-time Pro World
Champion, Hall of Famer Des Redding, $50,000 first place prize.
What do you make of it?
I mean, we've arrived.
I mean, this is an incredible payday.
Taking a look now at the stroke advantages.
Again, every shot matters here on the Disc Golf Pro Tour.
And Owen Scoggins, because of that,
has six shots over the rest of the field.
She starts at 600 par.
Holland Hanley, five down, four down for Silva and Missy,
all the way down to 17 and 18.
And Pierce, win.
And then your two wild cards that got in from the MVP open.
Matilda Ringboom from Sweden
and Anneli Togias Monastey from Estonia up ahead
the putt for Allen for birdie yes two
for two start for the two-time tour
champion 2016 and 2019 okay look at that
henna just with a little bit of hop able
to shift the weight keeping
the disc nose up tricky downhill par-3 needs to
clear the hay bales henna dialed on the
drive very difficult shot to be able to
get up and over these hay bales you know
in years past we've had this kind of survival format for
the tour championship this is pure stroke play
the only difference is those stroke advantages
and missy gannon gaining
a stroke under par with that birdie
look yes incredibly solid putt right
there by alan that's got
a push just like that everything right
on there you have to get it up
high enough so it carries the distance anything
that's coming in low is going to get tripped up
Holland does a good job, enough height on the disc
to allow it to come in towards the target.
Missy has had quite the demeanor of happy-go-lucky,
but you know she also really is looking for that win.
And man, after these first couple of putts,
you've got to wonder if she is dialed in and thinking,
hey, I was just waiting for that biggest paycheck of the year.
She was too far left. She was OB.
Yes! Wow!
Saves the par, stays three down, throws the hands up.
They're going in so when you're looking downhill you can see
the back side of the bunker
But the front side of the bunker that comes up quickly
That's something you have to be worried about I could
see why you would come up short on this approach
Scoggins gonna creep inside
the circle she can beautiful
Missy making a statement with the putts early in
the round gonna need to find some magic soon Missy
Found a slot right next to the hay bales.
She did slot shot that that was a
a perfect corner
on that right hand side coming
in nice it is nice bullseye
Colin Hanley has
laid up here's scoggins in the weak side
from the drop zone such a big cash from the drop zone saw
Katrina do it a couple plays back Cat Murch
on the seventh looks good if it can get back left
very nice great checkup
katrina on the seventh
trina has come dialed
for this first round
Rebecca Dawn, a young player with just a fantastic season,
finished eighth in the Disc Golf Pro Tour standing.
She's in the bullseye for Birdie.
Just showed us right there, that little upslope.
Kat Murch pulling out the utility knife, the forehand.
Just fine. Gets the job done.
There's a very gentle three-mile-an-hour breeze coming
in as I'm watching Silva,
and her shot is going to come up just low of the basket.
Beautiful-looking tee shot from her.
We've seen plenty of nasty rolls throughout the years
as it hits and can roll back toward
the water own low driving forward looks like she might split the
difference between the two
and just about just shy of where we see Silva on the short right side
basket so plenty of time to think about what putt you're going to have
and we'll see the result here
of Hanley and Hanley will be putting last out of the four all four safe
and inbounds it's time for
the long walk around the more laps
that you can get around tracks the better your finishes are
the better you're just able to negotiate the rigors of the road,
which translates into better opportunities on the course.
Going to take
a solo lead.
Long birdie look here on 10.
Dunks it in.
Well outside the circle right there.
Trina's drive landed.
That was some of the big action that you were talking about.
That started well on the right-hand side
and rolled all the way over to the left.
Pulls the right memories out to deal with it.
Here she is down the hill on 11.
very specific and slides it just outside
the bullseye again here she goes not
great play from Solon
and Silva on the other hand inside the bullseye and I'm
gonna go a little bit extra on that one too just
to help our viewers out because
her mini marker was safe
and not in that hazard area she will not be accruing
that extra one stroke penalty even though her body was in the hazard
Kat Mercer, little forehand up to the pin.
Now Hanley,
he's got a nice
stable edge.
Terry, we're watching Owen line up.
Justin's got the umbrella out.
How hard is it coming down?
Well, yeah, so incredible.
Owen, of course, is going to run it down.
She's making it rain one way or another.
Unbelievable.
And Missy's going to stay on the weak side.
We saw Katrina putting from a hazard on that hole.
Here she is again.
Third throw.
And that is going to work.
Katrina continuing on at great pace.
And that's going to be another look at Birdie
to take her to nine down just inside the bullseye.
Yeah, classic Silva shot.
That's going to be just outside the bullseye.
Solid Birdie.
Great Birdie right there.
Rain came down mid-hole.
Not play if you want,
but that will come at you two-folds when it's time for the end to come.
Holland-Hanley.
Sorry, Missy.
Cannot let that happen when you got ladies like this,
own Scoggins, dropping a birdie in there,
well beyond just the prize money.
Ella Hansen, first time we're seeing her today,
forehand on 17, and that's why we're seeing her.
Gorgeous shot just outside the bullseye.
Big go for there on 17.
And here's a go for it.
In the basket.
What a track, Rebecca Dunn releases one down on 17.
Missy, just a little hair of turn,
slides just outside the bullseye
that's another chance missy has dropped behind scoggins she was
in solo second for quite
some time hanley second shot
so yes what a great dynamic
to make it work
on and off the course and there it is eight down opening day
as the rain falls for katrina allen
and the two-time world champion sits atop
the leaderboard trina came in today's round with
three strokes earning from the tour season circles edge putt
that's the separator right there that
That was a great case in point right there
because we've seen a lot of circle edge putts
and it is the biggest difference right now
in the separator right here at the Ivy Hill.
She's at 28% C2.
Silva with another circles edge putt for the birdie.
If you're going for him, we saw what happened with Ella.
You have to go higher.
You have to stall it.
Silver Bullet
Flawless off the base.
Hitting that one shot.
Perfect drift
And just like that, round one of the finale
of the 2026 Disc Golf Pro Tour season is complete
Rose Scoggins tied for the lead
with Katrina Allen.
She has held her seed.
