Moving on now, a 19-year-old Palestinian man has been killed in the occupied West Bank in an
incident involving Israeli settlers and troops. Palestinian officials say that he was shot during
a confrontation near Ramallah. The latest killing was reported in Kobar near Ramallah, while
Palestinian officials say residents tried to pass through a gate recently put up by Israeli settlers.
They say a confrontation followed with Israeli forces arriving at the scene and open firing.
Kobar's mayor says the 19-year-old was killed by Israeli army firing.
The mayor also said the army prevented medical teams from reaching the injured man
and was left bleeding at the scene. The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed
that Israeli forces refused access to an injured person. The Palestinian authorities says
the victim later died and his body is being withheld by Israeli authorities.
The incident came just one day after another Palestinian was killed in the West Bank.
The Palestinian health ministry said 51-year-old man was shot dead by Israeli settlers in Yassuf.
The Israeli military said troops opened fire after Palestinians threw rocks at Israelis
and injured one person. Separately, the United States has imposed sanctions on three individuals
and two France-based charities allegedly accused of helping raise more than $2 million for Hamas.
The U.S. Treasury says the network used charitable fronts and cryptocurrency channels
to move funds to the group. U.S. authorities say three people were arrested in the United States
while French authorities arrested three others linked to the case. And in Gaza,
the World Health Organization says humanitarian aid is still facing major delays.
The WHO says medical supplies waiting for Israeli approval can take a median of 74 days to clear.
It says none of Gaza's hospitals are currently fully functional
and that chronic shortages of medical supplies are continuing.
