One of the Most Dramatic Matches in Thailand Volleyball History !!! Belgium and Thailand delivered a dramatic five-set battle in the Women’s Volleyball Nations League 2026 on June 6 in Nanjing, China. After losing the opening two sets, Belgium completed a remarkable comeback to win 3–2, with set scores of 20–25, 22–25, 25–23, 25–22 and 16–14. Both teams were searching for their first victory after two opening defeats, adding extra importance to the encounter.

Thailand controlled the early stages with strong defence, effective counterattacks and Pimpichaya Kokram’s attacking power. They won the opening set 25–20, then established a 14–7 advantage in the second. Belgium saved four set points but could not prevent Thailand from taking a commanding 2–0 lead.

The turning point came in the third set. Thailand led 13–7 and appeared close to a straight-set victory, but Britt Herbots’ serving helped Belgium recover. Pauline Martin delivered crucial attacks as the Yellow Tigers fought back to win 25–23. Belgium maintained their momentum in the fourth, surviving Thailand’s late recovery from 18–22 to 21–22 before closing the set 25–22.

The deciding set brought even more tension. Belgium moved ahead 5–2 and 7–3, but Thailand battled back to 12–12. Martin earned Belgium’s first match point at 14–13, and the Yellow Tigers converted their second opportunity to seal a thrilling 16–14 victory. Substitute libero Noor Debouck contributed valuable defence during the comeback.
