Do you trust the news?
Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel. Today I want to talk about the topic of
this house believes that new biased shouldn't trust. Okay so today I would take a role as the
second speaker of the affirmative team since I did the first speaker of the first team last time.
Okay so let's get going. Good day esteemed judges and fellow debaters. My name is Jenny
and I'm the second speaker of the affirmative team for the motion. This house believes that
news are biased and shouldn't be trust. We're on the affirmative team so we strongly agree with
Before I go into my ideas I would like to rebut the others team argument. The other team says
that we should listen to bias in such as news because it helps us with informing and persuading
that the news idea is better and good. But I disagree. Each people have different opinions,
their decisions, their choices so they can choose by themselves. Now I'd like to go my ideas. So
firstly we shouldn't listen to the news because studies suggested audiences speak new and lying
to their views and the media organization and make clear these preferences. Cooperative
ownership and advertising revenue government influence that have also been cited factors
government and shaping the media narrative which makes it not biased but also to inform us. So
you sometimes have opinions not like the news including the other people right? Exactly so
that's what I'm talking about. So you don't have to read the news because it's technically it's
nothing weird. Okay now let's move on to the example. Many people are around the world are
reading the news right? Yeah so they're reading the news they don't have to read the biased news
because they don't like others opinions or even the news opinions so they don't have to read it.
Now let's go on my second idea. Secondly news can sometimes misinformation. They can have
misinformation in it. A significant portion of the public feels that organizations are biased and
push agendas rather than representing the ordinary citizens. The spread false or misleading information
is a major concern particularly on the news or on e-news. For instance like fake news. Fake news is
a fictional plate piece of information can help certain political parties figures or validate
their opinion and can be used to convince people to vote for them. You don't want to read it. You
don't want fake news. They're fake. They're not real. And lastly research suggested that the
negative news is more likely to capture the attention or potentially leading to skewed
participants of events. So probably you're wondering why is this true? Because it's most
likely to skew you to troll or to scam you. For example many people go on the internet and they
get hacked. That is exactly what it means. Getting hacked but by mail or by news. In conclusion we
shouldn't read it but it doesn't inform us a lot of information too. Dear judges and debaters I've
spoken and I yield my time. Thank you. So I think that my speech has ended and I'll see you guys
next time in my channel. Goodbye.
