Miniature - Water Bucket With Cattails And Water Lilys

Hello everyone and welcome to my channel. I created this little bucket in Fusion 360 and I printed it out in a wood filament. You can of course use any kind of buckets that you have standing around so you don't need this exact one to do this little craft here. I use a piece of acetate that I am cutting out smaller than the opening of my bucket and I'm just making sure that it fits into my little bucket as well. Then I am using two blue paints from Vallejo model paint. I think that was a sky blue and a deep sky blue and I'm kind of mixing them together and painting most of the inside of the bucket. I am leaving around half a centimeter at the top like five millimeters at the top in that brown color so it doesn't look like we have water all the way up and that's what I want. You can paint everything on the inside blue but then you need to fill it up with water and the water that we are going to use is a little expensive so I want it to be not so tall up there and I also want some plants in there so I don't want it to be overflowing in my little bucket. On the outside of this little bucket I am painting these metal pieces here with a gun metal from Vallejo and it actually looks pretty neat. There are three of these ribbons so I'm painting everything. Again, if you don't have this 3d print and use another bucket then maybe look at your bucket and see if it needs some painting or not. You still want the blue on the inside but otherwise you might just leave your bucket as it is. My acetate have some foil on each side of it to make sure that you don't scratch it before time and I am going to take that off now on both sides. Remember to be looking for it maybe on both sides. If you don't take this off you can ruin the whole creation just so you know it. So if you want to decorate the bottom of your bucket it is now you have to do that and I am just gluing in some gravel that I had lying around in our driveway and I'm gluing a few pieces into that little bucket. Be careful, don't let it overflow with things in there or maybe you like that and then you can do it. I like just a few rocks here and there and then I'm making sure that everything is dry before I continue. Then I am placing the little piece of acetate into my bucket and I am going to use my hot glue to make sure it is sealed all the way around. My acetate is sitting around five millimeters below my blue line or where that ends because I want to be filling water in there and decoration so I need a space for that and that's my five millimeters. I wanted to decorate my little bucket with a few cat's tails so for that I am using some flower winders or wire that's and I'm cutting them into around two three centimeters of my length placing them into this little crocodile beak here so that I have something where I can place it when I'm done. I'm using my hot glue here to make kind of a little sausage where I want the cat tail and then I am dipping that into some coffee grounds that I heated in my oven so this is really really dry and it's not smelling. It has been used and then you dry it off in your oven slowly by a low temperature in around an hour or two and then you can use it for anything you want to because it's not giving off that smell that mice like so don't worry about this one and I am of course making three of these cat tails. For the leaves I am using some masking tape that I am gluing together so I'm folding this piece of masking tape in on itself just like this. It is a little tricky but you can do it and then I am just making sure it is nice and flat. What I don't show you here is that I am painting it green on both sides just like this and I use two different kinds of green to give it a little more liveliness, a little more look to it. Now I am cutting out a few really really long and thin leaves again for my cat tails and you can cut out as many as you want to. I think I cut out five or six of these. When I have everything ready I am using some hot glue here. I don't want the hot glue to come in over everything here. I just want it in the edge where I want my cat tails and then I am placing the cat tails and the leaves into that hot glue just placing it in willy-nilly looking a little natural. Then I have this little tiny fish that I got on Temmo. Be careful with that if you live in Europe because they are putting on a lot of taxes for packaging from the Temmo app. If you don't want to go to Temmo you can of course design or create a little fish of Temmo. For the water we are going to use this still water and you are not allowed to put in more than three millimeters of depth at one time because then it won't harden right. Be careful with that and if you're really careful you can avoid air bubbles as well. I placed around two millimeters water in there and I made sure that it is all out to the edges so it doesn't have that curled in look. I don't want that and now I am going to leave it for at least 24 hours to harden and then I'm gonna give it one more time and of course I am going to give it a little more than that so I waited 24 hours more and poured in a little more of that still water. Everyone that knows me know that I am really loving to do some kind of handwork so of course I'm making die cuts as well. I have this little heart shape that is elongated and it is perfect for a dragonfly's wing so I'm making sure I have two pieces that have the same size of this little paper that is a baking paper that I cut out these hearts in. I am using a silver wire for my dragonflies. You can use gold as well if you want to or maybe a light blue that would be perfect as well. Using a tiny bit of tacky glue I am placing a bead of that on my wire taking these small elongated hearts and placing it so that the longer side of the heart is on the upward side and I'm doing the same thing on the other side placing that on there and then I am going to carefully cut off that wire in the length that I want it to be so I want the bottom part of it to be a little longer than the head part of that little dragonfly. Then with my flat nose pliers I am cutting off the wire and now I can glue that on my little cat tails right here. You could put it on the bucket itself if you want to. You can make one or more. I think I only made one here but that was a little dragonfly. We're not done yet. I wanted to make a water lily as well so I am first cutting out the leaf for my water lily in that masking tape that we made before cutting out that little indent that they have just like this. Then I am using a dotting tool to make some lines from the indent and out just around in a circle like that so that was the leaf. I only need one of these but you can of course make more if you want to. I found a tiny die-cut flower that I liked for the water lily itself and I cut that out in that baking paper again. I cut four of these and I am using a pink copic marker to just give the edges of the flower a tiny bit of color so that it is not too boring to look at. Then I use a dotting tool to make these leaves kind of fold together and one I do a little, the next I do a little more, the third I do even more and the fourth I am doing a lot and then I am connecting them one two three and four with a tiny bit of glue in between so it's actually pretty easy to make these water lilies. After placing the last little flower here I am again using my dotting tool to give it a little more uniform togetherness look. Now I'm ready to glue down the little leaf here in my little lake and I'm just giving it a tiny bit of tacky glue and placing it carefully on the water. It should be totally hardened now but I'm still careful with it. Then the water lily, placing that right where I want it to the side so I can still see my little fish, using a tiny bit of yellow Vallejo paint I am painting that little center of the little water lily and that is all for this craft.
