MASSIVE Dallas Injury Update...Anthony Davis Return Imminent... | Dallas Mavericks News

We have a massive Dallas Mavericks injury update regarding a few of our key players. As the Dallas Mavericks continue to battle with injuries to the roster, most recently Dante Exum breaking his hand, the Dallas Mavericks are very close to having to forfeit the rest of their season if we don't have anybody to come back from injury, as Brandon Williams as well as Kessler Edwards are reaching that 50-game limit on their two-way contract. But an update that came out earlier today highlights how both Anthony Davis as well as Jaden Hardy could return before the season's end. So in this video, we're going to take a look at the reports surrounding Jaden Hardy as well as Anthony Davis, when could we see them back, and what does this even mean for the Dallas Mavericks season as we only have a few games left. with injuries most notably after the trade deadline we got a lot of injuries to our roster Kyrie Irving has a torn ACL Dante Exum broke his hand Jayden Hardy in his ankles as well as PJ Washington who did return but also Anthony Davis shortly after the trade deadline Anthony Davis finally made his debut with the Dallas Mavericks against the Houston Rockets he played amazing basketball for about two and a half quarters and halfway through the third quarter he went down first saying it was a spasm in his in his abdomen said it was nothing too serious he was actually trying to fight his way back onto the court but the training staff told him no it could be something worse and it was something worse it was a left adductor strain which is something he's had before and he's been sidelined ever since if we just take a look right here it was reported shortly after the injury from shams who said it's still up in the air on whether or not anthony davis will return this season we got the report that him and his representatives have been talking with Anthony Davis as well as the Dallas Mavericks organization on what to do with Anthony Davis for the rest of this season we're losing games we're the 10th seed he's coming back from an injury is it worth bringing him back for the remainder of the season even if it's just for a handful of games where he could possibly re-injure himself and try to win games that really doesn't change our seeding at all but I know a lot of Mavericks fans want Anthony Davis to come back they want to see this team try to get healthy and make a push a lot of fans feel like as long as we are in the picture as long as we have a chance it's not impossible for this team to make a deep run but we did get the news today that Anthony Davis I'm sorry not today but it was a few weeks ago we did get the report that Anthony Davis and Dereck Lively are indeed both progressing toward an in-season return whether those reactivations actually happen of course remain to be seen from the timeline saying Davis played two on two this past weekend it will most and will almost certainly reach the point before season's end that playing in an NBA game is feasible and then we also got the update today that the Dallas Mavericks have assigned Anthony Davis and Jaden Hardy to the Texas Legends sounds like they'll be returning soon and that's absolutely right that's what that means we've seen it with a lot of other players with Caleb Martin most recently who was gone for a little bit over a month with a hip injury that first we assigned to the G League and then about two three days later he played for the Dallas Mavericks so knowing that Anthony Davis as well as Jaden Hardy have been assigned to the G League shows that they are a lot closer to returning than we think or this could be another case of the organization rushing players back like I said in the intro both Brandon Williams and Kessler Edwards are reaching that 50 game threshold for two-way players and after that we'll be down two additional players and yes we did get PJ Washington back but we need as many players as possible not trying to be a pessimist but this could this could honestly be a case of the Dallas Mavericks organization the front office not trying to forfeit games not trying to lose money by having to forfeit games and are looking at who are the two closest to returning on our injury report that's very lengthy injury report and try to see if we can get them back as soon as possible with Anthony Davis and Jaden Hardy both missing significant time we could see them back fairly soon and when it comes to Jaden Hardy I know a lot of people want him gone they feel like Brandon Williams is the better option over Jaden Hardy which is something I also believe in it really doesn't matter at this point when brandon williams can only play a few more games left this season we're gonna need bodies we need somebody out there we've seen Najee Marshall play very well with all these minutes that we're giving him maybe this is exactly what Jaden Hardy needs he needs a time to play when everyone's injured and he can have a bigger role have a bigger impact maybe things will turn around in the last 15 or so games in the season but as well as anthony davis coming back from his left adductor strain hopefully they're not rushing him back otherwise we're going to get a double dose of Anthony Davis before we even see him play an extended period of time nobody wants to see him re-injure himself a lot of people want to see Anthony Davis just come back next season when you're fully healthy give yourself the whole summer to rest and recover come back next season where it actually matters but I also understand that there are a lot of people that still go to the Mavericks game still want to go out and see these guys compete at a high level and if anybody can come back healthy to play why not do it and if Anthony Davis does come back then maybe we do have a shot of trying to get out of the play and maybe win a game or two who knows what the ceiling is for this Dallas Mavericks team as we hardly know who's available on a daily basis but just continuing with the news that we do have Mark Stein did tweet out saying Anthony Davis is practicing with the Legends today is very eager to return from his adductor strain before season's and league sources tell the Stein Line and DLLS sports whether he actually does return though remains to be determined amid concern exposing Davis um I'm sorry about exposing Davis to re-injury so there you have it when you get assigned to the G League it's now like oh we're gonna see Anthony Davis play with the Texas Legends maybe Jaden Hardy but definitely not someone like Anthony Davis he was just there to do five on five pickup uh five on five pickup games some practice something that's a little bit more low low impact before practicing with the full squad and then from there actually coming into a game alongside Jaden Hardy but it's good to know that that Anthony Davis is eager to come back he wants to play he wants to be here he could easily just sit out for the whole season not care and who knows what the summer looks like with our free agency and trades and the draft who knows what direction this team's going to make but it does bode well for some fans to hear that Anthony Davis is eager to come back he wants to play however the concern about exposing Davis to re-injury is very very real like I said he's had this injury before he had an injury in LA this year we got him injured came back got injured again we don't want that to happen when we only have about 14 13 games left it really wouldn't matter it would make this season feel more of a wash than it already is but also just take a look right here Anthony Davis and Jaden Hardy have been officially recalled from their one-day practice stint with the Texas Legends Hardy and two-way big man Kai Jones I'm told are in contention to be active for Dallas game Wednesday at Indiana so there you have it they got sent to the G League literally just for practice then they got recalled right back so obviously that shows that everything is trending in the right direction for those two and we should see them soon if not Wednesday for Anthony Davis I can see it being maybe on the weekend Friday or even next week they only play two games this week Wednesday and Friday so if not by Friday I can see us playing Anthony Davis that following game and as with Jaden Hardy like I said in this tweet it could be either him or Kai Jones and I would like to see more of Kai Jones in his first stint with the Dallas Mavericks in that first game looked absolutely amazing looked like an awesome third string center for the Dallas Mavericks if if we can keep him long enough next season I think Kai Jones would be a great fit for this team he's very athletic he does everything that you want from a center and also does a lot of things that you want from a power forward he's a very good and very talented player that i hope that we can see more of so whether it's Jaden Hardy Kai Jones or even Anthony Davis, we're going to get somebody back soon and like I said it has to be sooner than we think because we only have a few more games of Brandon Williams and Kester Edwards and when those two players have hit their 50 game availability limit for a two-way contract we're gonna have to forfeit games unless we bring other players back and we won't be able to sign anybody to an actual roster spot because we only have one available we won't be able to sign anybody until April 10th per the league rules so we are in a very weird situation where day by day we have to play 3D chess to figure out how do we assemble a full fully healthy enough squad to go out there and compete every single night and just continue with all the news that we do have shout out to Nick over there and Locked On he just put things into perspective by saying Caleb Martin was assigned to the Legends on March 4th and played on March 7th AD was assigned on March 17th it will play on I would assume like I said if not this Friday the following game I think we can see Anthony Davis of course will be up to date on everything around Anthony Davis so as soon as I know I'm gonna let you guys know but I think it will be somewhere around next week that at the earliest that we can see Anthony Davis the last thing here is just to show you that the last few games that we have for this season we're getting really close to the end we play the Pacers the Pistons the Nets the Knicks the Magic the Bulls the Nets again the Hawks the Clippers the Clippers again the Lakers the Raptors and the Grizzlies to round out the season and I think we could probably see Anthony Davis come back maybe against a team where we're not too worried about him playing too hard I don't think the Knicks game maybe the Magic maybe the Bulls it's not an easy schedule it's not a tough schedule either but when you look at the availability and the health of this team every game feels like a tough game and we just lost to the Philadelphia 76ers absolutely ridiculous right but who knows when we'll see Anthony Davis Jayden Hardy or Kai Jones but it does feel like it'll be very very soon but to finish off this video of course we always got to play as who is that Maverick he's
