Well, the trade rumors are swirling once again,
and this one is a perfect trade that the Bills
absolutely need to make.
It's no secret, the Buffalo Bills defense is laughably bad. There's
no denying that. Specifically, the Bills secondary is terrible,
and that was proven once again in
Monday night's win against the Rams.
The Bills need an improvement in this secondary desperately,
And wouldn't you know it, there is one player out there on a very bad
team that should be on the trade block for the Bills to go out and get.
So today, we'll be taking a look at what this trade
is and what it would entail for the Buffalo Bills.
So, welcoming everybody to Bills Digest,
I'm Ben Volker, and here at Bills Digest,

And I don't know about you guys, but me personally,
I'm still coming down off of the high
that was Monday night's win against the Los Angeles Rams.
It was crazy. There was ups, there was downs.
I thought we were going to lose for sure.
And then the Greg Rousseau blocked field goal changed everything.
it was amazing but there is one massive elephant
in the room following this win that of course
is the Bills defense who once again had another
stinker giving up 30 plus points once again yes
it was not a great night for the defense specifically
the Bills secondary but despite
all that I'm still very happy with this win I'm still very excited
and if you are as well leave
the go bills in the comments to let me know.
Speaking of the comments, I asked you guys prior
to Monday's game to leave some predictions
for what you thought this game was going to look like
and what was going to happen. And I was rereading the comments today
and I've got to shout out Light
of Truth here because they pretty much absolutely nailed it outside
of the final score. They did say
the final score was going to be 45 to 28.
Not quite the blowout they predicted, but let's look at the
rest of what they said josh allen will break out
his superman cape certainly a check mark there
james will cook yes he did have that very costly fumble
but it didn't it didn't burn them in the
end and he had a great great night despite
that and finally the defense will sack matthew stafford
two to three times and for several turnovers didn't quite hit
the mark on the turnover one
there but matthew stafford was sacked once officially
but there was another big sack by
TJ Sanders or TJ Parker excuse me to uh prevent a two-point conversion
so I'm going to count that
one as well so that's two sacks on Matthew Stafford in this game
so shout out to you light of truth
you certainly lived up to your username there
and we're going to talk about this mock trade in just
a second but first I gotta let you guys know
that today's video is sponsored by Kalshi and on Kalshi
you're trading directly against other users
not the house like traditional sports books you're
buying yes or no contracts on the outcome
of events across sports politics or even the weather
for example right now on Kalshi there is one
that we absolutely are going to be looking at
it of course is the mvp race
which josh allen obviously vaulted himself back into this week i
don't think he was ever out of the mvp race
but after two lackluster weeks there was starting the
the buzz was starting to die down now he's up there
with guys like brock purdy and patrick
mahomes at the start of the season you remember he
was up there with guys like lamar jackson
Joe Burrow, Caleb Williams, they are all gone.
Purdy, Mahomes in the place.
But the one constant that is always going
to be in contention here is Josh Allen.
And if you, like me, do believe that Josh Allen will be the 2026 MVP,
you can place $25 on Kalshi right now.
And if Josh Allen does indeed win 2026 MVP,
you could win $91 in return.
That is pretty good.
So if you are interested in trying out Kalshi,
you can use the link in the description,
trade $25 with code digest NFL and get $55 added to
your account instantly.
Thank you once again to Kalshi for sponsoring today's video. And let's
go ahead and look at this trade proposal here.
This comes from Christopher Knox at Bleacher
Report. He does these speculations every week,
and I really, really like how this one looks for
the Bills obviously you can see there
the Bills would get Dante Jackson a cornerback from the Los
Angeles Chargers in exchange for a 2027 uh
for a 2027 fifth round pick and let's let's talk about
this what would this look like
this is what Christopher Knox had to say he said teams
may not be eager to make a move for Jackson until he's clearly healthy
but he's a player worth
targeting before November 10th there is no question about
that if you are the Buffalo Bills and you
have seen how this defense has looked so far this year
because like I said they've been getting
burnt all season long I know currently Dante Jackson
is dealing with a hamstring injury that
the Chargers are considering week to week
so maybe now is not the right time to pull the trigger but
if this is not considered a serious injury
the Bills absolutely have to make this trade I do not
care what I do not care uh about this injury
and if it lingers long term as long as he's back and
playing sometime soon if you're the Bills I think you got
to make this trade and there's another
reason for that because let's take a look
at uh Dante Jackson's contract here um because he is
playing on the last year of this contract.
It expires in 2027, so this would just be a rental
for the Bills to further help make their Super Bowl push
and finally bring a Lombardi trophy to
Buffalo. Obviously, the Bills, I think, need to make this trade.
Let's go ahead here, take a look
at what Dante Jackson did in the 2025 season.
Now, these obviously are not eye-popping stats from
Dante Jackson, but they certainly leave a lot
to be encouraged by if you are a Bills fan. Four
interceptions, 24 tackles in 17 games.
He started in 15 of those. I think that the Bills would be
downright crazy if they don't try to make a pursuit for Dante Jackson,
and obviously that is because
of the main headline of the day.
The Bills have a real need at this corner back position. That is
no question because look at just just look
at these stats from Puka Nacua this last game here
uh we'll go ahead and pull them up i mean 17 receptions 138 yards
and a receiving touchdown
and it didn't stop at Puka Nacua Davante Adams did
the same thing in the red zone like we knew
he was going to do tyler higby it seemed like
was always open 10 yards down the field for matthew
Stafford to go to. It seemed like the only time
that a receiver that was targeted did not make
the completion was if Matthew Stafford made a bad throw.
It was never on our defense. I mean,
they just pretty much did whatever they wanted to,
especially Puka Nacua, who was always open,
always unguarded, and it is a miracle that they survived
this stat line. But how does this fit
look for the Bills, look the Bills coverage
the secondary is is obviously way way under scrutiny
the breakdowns have been very costly we can go back all
the way to week one with that one
uh specifically in that Patriots game
though it absolutely costed them and that's their only loss
on the year the injuries to uh Christian Benford look Benford hasn't
been great he's been way
better than Maxwell Hairston
and CB there's no denying that but a veteran addition it would add
competition but yes of course it is not a guarantee immediate fix
that is just going to slap a band-aid
on the secondary and make everything better there's
no way there's no way it would do that
but of course it would certainly help
but why Dante Jackson we look at we looked at his stats
a little bit earlier but let's go ahead look
at this upside here by him this is also from
Christopher Knox. He wrote that Jackson,
he started 15 games for the Chargers last season
and allowed an opposing passer rating of only 56.8 in coverage.
That is pretty spectacular.
Go ahead and take a look at what
the Bills' corners have done in coverage this year. I know
I think Hairston's got like a 70 passer rating,
which is kind of shocking it's not higher. I know
CB is over a hundred and, uh, they need help.
There's no, no denying that whatsoever,
but there are a few risks that come with Dante Jackson.
Of course, we mentioned the health
concern. Um, obviously his coverage results
were not consistently strong. This was, it was kind of
a little bit more scattered throughout the 2025 season
and that hamstring injury week to week.
so it the timing of everything
and the medical is going to be crucial in making this trade happen
but what did what conditions do the Bills need
to meet in order to make this trade this is what
we're looking at here Jackson he has to be healthy enough
that he can contribute soon I'm looking at
by at least after the bye week eight if they're making
this trade he has to be healthy by week
eight obviously you have to always consider
the remaining cap uh charge and the roster fit of
course but they cannot overpay for Dante Jackson I know they need
a cornerback desperately but they
cannot overpay and mortgage their entire future
on this guy uh a fifth round pick I do think is
about accurate for what you should expect
for Dante Jackson maybe a fourth round pick I would
be a little bit hesitant to say
that but by no means anywhere higher than a fourth round pick
absolutely not but i want to hear from you guys what
do you think about this trade do you think
yes the Bills should trade for Dante Jackson
do you think no that this is not going to help us
and the only way that this cornerback room
is going to be is going to get better is by just
performing better i don't think
so i've been saying i've been saying this since the start of
the video yes yes yes for me on this Dante Jackson trade
if you agree leave a like and let me know
and let me know in the comments what you guys think
as well uh that's all we got time for here
on Bills Digest today we will have a ton
of more coverage leading up to this Raiders game so stick
around for that keep it right here on Bills Digest
as always thanks for watching and of course go Bills
