MAJOR Knicks Move Incoming - This is PERFECT...
Oct 7, 2026
A major New York Knicks move is imminent and it is obvious what they are going to do in
regards to that final roster spot as Andre Drummond has shown that he is a very talented
backup big man for the Knicks already, but Mike Brown and the Knicks are absolutely loving
one of the moves that they have made.
It's already proven to be a steal while giving the Knicks the center depth that they need
because that's been the biggest talking point over the past two months now.
After the Knicks signed Andre Drummond, they definitely felt like they had more depth between
Karl-Anthony Towns, between Drummond, but they lost Ariel Huckporty, who I'm going to
talk about in a second because of an injury, and also they lost Mitchell Robinson, obviously.
They need a third string big man and they have found the guy for the job and it is hard
to argue with anyone that James Wiseman is not the center or even the player for the
Knicks to sign because he is that dude and the Knicks have a future real weapon on their
hands that they are going to get to mold just the way they want to.
Guys, make sure to go ahead and subscribe to Knicks Digest so you don't miss out on
any of the great content that we're coming out with every single day on this channel.
We got shorts, we got videos, and we are going to be doing live streams as well.
I want to talk to you guys.
I want to talk about some comments and everything, and guys, on that point, I want you to comment.
Who will the New York Knicks sign, in your opinion?
Who do you want them to sign?
Would you want it to be James Wiseman, Bruce Brown, Drew Eubanks, or Tony Bradley for that
final roster spot?
I don't think it's going to be Ochiai Gbaje.
They're clearly leaning big man, and I'm adding Bruce Brown just because the Knicks love Bruce
Brown, but overall, guys, it is clear who the man is for the job, and it's the way things
are trending.
We've already seen it get reported.
It's James Wiseman.
Wiseman is the man for this job in every sense of the word.
I mean, one preseason game in is not going to tell you a ton of a story, but in nine
minutes, the man put up eight points, went three for four from the field, had five rebounds,
two of them were offensive, and he had a block.
The reason this is so important is because he caught a lob, and also, he got an offensive
rebound, and put the ball back in.
Remind you of anyone?
A certain Mitchell Robinson, perhaps?
Look, they're not the same player whatsoever.
Wiseman's actually a smarter player, and obviously, Mitchell Robinson's a better player at basketball,
but at the same time, James Wiseman does add a lot of good for this team, giving them real
depth so they don't have to worry about potentially not having a big man, which will tank their
NBA championship chances, which right now aren't at 10% on Cal Street.
Thank you to Cal Street for sponsoring today's video, guys.
On Cal Street, you're trading directly against other users, not the house like traditional
sports folks.
You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcomes of events across sports, politics, and even
the weather.
For example, the Knicks winning the 2027 NBA championship, which right now they have a
10% chance to do on Cal Street, so if you trade $25, you could make $261 on that.
I'd say $25 because, guys, if you're interested in trying out Cal Street, make sure to click
the link in our description or the pinned comment.
It's the same link, and use code DigestNBA when signing up, and you will get $55 when
you trade your first $25.
It's a great deal for you, it helps the channel out a bunch, and guys, when we look at the
New York Knicks right now, we know a few things.
One of them is that Mike Brown, who obviously is our coach and one of the most beloved people
in New York Knicks history now, overall, Mike Brown has done a very good job of developing
players in the past.
He's been good at it, he's coached a lot of young talent who has emerged, he's been a
coach for a lot of different teams, and well, Andre Drummond is not someone who he's going
to develop.
Drummond's 15 years in, and what he does well, he does very well.
He honestly had a good game as well against the Philadelphia 76ers, as he had 12 minutes
played with 6 points, 1-2 for 5 from the field, one of them was just missing a 3, so usual
Andre Drummond stuff.
Five rebounds, three blocks, and an assist.
Drummond's absolutely awesome.
We know Andre Drummond's awesome.
No one has to sit here and argue about how cool Andre Drummond is, he's the man.
But guys, overall, there is a lot to look at here, because Drummond, as good as he is,
and as consistently knock-on-wood healthy as he's been, there's going to be a point where
him or Carl Anthony Towns is going to be playing in a game or two, and yes, the Knicks will
use OG Adenovi as a backup center at points, but also, what about James Wiseman?
Someone the Knicks clearly like.
Someone the Knicks believe they can sign while he's not playing a ton of minutes to an extension
for a multi-year deal for a really cheap contract, who will then become their backup center.
That's the game plan here that people aren't talking about.
It makes sense why.
Wiseman played four games last year, put up three points and two rebounds, and it was
for the Pacers, and then really didn't do much else, and only played one game, also
for the Pacers, prior to that.
We look at his career, and it looks like someone who's on the outs of the NBA, but he's not.
That's the catch.
Played 40 games in Golden State in his rookie year, and honestly, looked quite solid, and
then also, with the Detroit Pistons, after coming back after getting an injury that completely
took out a season of his development, he was actually solid in Detroit as well, putting
up 13-8, showing the potential, but he didn't stick around Detroit for long, his minutes
went down, and eventually, he would end up signing with Indiana after a little bit, and
only playing in five games over the last two years, but he is back, he is clearly talented,
and also, on top of that, he is such a good third-string center, because you can build
him up, you can develop him.
He can be a high-post guy like Mike Brown wants, because he's a very talented playmaker.
I mean, in a lot of ways, him and Ariel Huckforty do have similar skill sets, except Wiseman's
a much smarter player.
The reason I did want to bring up Ariel Huckforty is really just, he went down with an injury
that looks like kind of what everyone thinks it is when he tried to burst, and I just hope
Ariel Huckforty's okay, man.
It was so cool to see his Knicks teammates pick him up after, I mean, this man is a Knick
forever, wants a Knick, always a Knick, he's a champion with the Knicks, and I really do
hope the best for Ariel Huckforty going forwards after that scary injury, but it's just something
that you do want to mention, always.
But, on top of that, it's not like Wiseman's going to play a ton.
It's still Andre Drummond's world as the backup center, 6.4 points, 8.4 rebounds in 19 minutes
is absolutely absurd.
Drummond is such a talented player, he can hit his threes, he can hit his free throws
at a decent rate, so there won't be Hackadrum like there was earlier in his career, because
he started hitting.
I mean, getting around a block per game as well, Drummond certainly has to become a better
defender, and he is someone who the Knicks are going to use, but Wiseman possesses a
different skill set.
He's a lot faster than Andre Drummond.
He is a guy who will work at the high posts pretty consistently.
He can make a nice pass, and all of these reasons have led to Wiseman impressing in
camp, and according to witnesses, as Stephan Vondie said, he should be the favorite, with
an important caution, they still have to play preseason basketball.
One game in, Wiseman really furthered his case.
Now, Knicks big coach Mark Bryan called over James Wiseman during a timeout midway through
the first preseason game, and Wiseman showing some frontcourt athleticism, Knicks are looking
forward with Mitchell Robinson gone, so it did work out the way they're hoping, so one
preseason game in, obviously it's such a small, small, small scope here, but still, it shows
a lot about Wiseman, who Wiseman himself did say, it felt good just trying to contribute
to the team.
I mean, he hasn't been able to for a while, so it really is cool to see that.
Now, Kevin O'Connor also discussed Wiseman, where everything's at, and he said, I don't
want to diminish the importance of Mitchell Robinson, the rebounding, the defensive possessions
against Wembley at the end of the games in the finals, he was a critical player at the
same time.
I just don't think it necessarily means you're worse off without him.
I mean, Mike Brown's creativity could help the Knicks replace Mitch's impact in different
ways, such as going to small ball lineups strategically, but also using James Wiseman
where you use Mitch in some senses, and also using Andre Drummond in most senses where
you use Mitch.
I mean, yeah, Drummond's not the defender that Mitch is, and I'm not saying Wiseman
is, but Wiseman is a bouncy, true seven-footer who can get blocks and offensive rebounds
pretty damn well, and I'm super, super excited to see that, especially considering there
is some turmoil surrounding Karl-Anthony Towns now, which does bring us to the fan comment
of the day, because again, that's happened in every video now.
Guys, we saw H.Everything mention saying about Karl-Anthony Towns, part of my concern is
the weight loss.
If he got stronger with it, then cool, but if he didn't, he's going to be backed down
in the post and may not be able to bang around to get the bucket slash board.
It is a very, very, very understandable thought process here.
I mean, we're seeing a skinnier Karl-Anthony Towns, and Towns has admitted that he usually
gets skinnier, but he is noticeably thinner.
Now, is he going to gain the weight through the season like he said he will?
Well, maybe, for sure, but maybe also he will be thinner.
I mean, then a lot goes on to the shoulders of Andre Drummond, and if Kat's getting backed
down, I don't think OG and Inouye's going to be much different considering the size
discrepancy.
There's a lot of strength that comes in height because of leverage and stuff, and well, if
Drummond's there, well, then you're golden.
Drummond's very, very strong, but if Drummond's not around or you need more defense, then
James Wiseman is an athletic guy who can really stop big men because of the true seven-foot
ability, the great timing, and the high basketball IQ.
I do think this is a move that makes sense for the Knicks, and I want to see James Wiseman
get signed.
I put out a poll on the channel, what fans want to do.
We will have a YouTube short coming out on that as well.
