The Boston Celtics are BACK...

The time has finally come, as yes, it is finally game day. The Boston Celtics play regular season basketball once again, and it feels like it has been so long since we have seen the Boston Celtics play a real basketball game, and we get to see it on the road in Detroit to start off the NBA season. So what are our expectations going into this season? and what is there to look for throughout this whole season, as it will be the first season without Jalen Brown. Well, we're going to talk about all of that and more here on Celtics Digest. Hello, everybody. Welcome back to another video. I am your host, Patrick Billings, and I couldn't be more excited to just talk Boston Celtics basketball, not just preseason, not just offseason. We're done with all of that. We get to talk about real, meaningful Boston Celtics basketball. And before we get to talk about real Celtics basketball, I want to tell you guys that this video is brought to you by Calshi. As on Calshi, you're trading directly against other users, not the house like traditional sportsbooks. You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcome of events across sports, politics, or even the weather. and for example guys of course like i said the season starts today and you guys can go and trade yes or no on the Boston Celtics total wins at 50 plus wins and it has that 1.65 multiplier there so if you trade 25 dollars the payout is 41 and change but if you guys click the link in the description in the pinned comment below or using this code digest NBA you get 55 dollars instantly when you trade your first 25 dollars so make sure you go to Calshi using this promo code or the link in the description and the pinned comment below guys i am pumped up it may not seem like it right now i'm trying to hold things back just a little bit because i'm waiting for tip off i gotta hold it back a little bit three o'clock start is very very interesting but it is a big game as it is the first game of the season against the Detroit Pistons as we got a little preview here on our brand new website Digest Sports where it has football basketball baseball hockey anything that you guys need want trade machine any of all those things this this website is is sick honestly it's really, really cool. So you guys make sure to go check it out. And it gives us a little matchup preview on what maybe the Boston Celtics and the Detroit Pistons need to do in this game for some keys to victory as the Celtics need to control the tempo and win the rebounding battle as on the other side for the Pistons, their keys to victory are protecting the paint and capitalize on fast break opportunities. And I think talking about that one with the Boston Celtics with winning the rebounding battle. We get to see Mitchell Robinson and Mo Bamba play some meaningful minutes. I mean, I'm still kind of unsure of what type of starting lineup we are going to see out of this Boston Celtics team. I'm not sure if they're going to go with Mitch, if they're going to go with him. It seems like in the preseason, they were going to Mitch in the starting lineup. So that's just what I'm going to go off of. I mean, if we looked at that last box score against the Charlotte Hornets as that last preseason game against the 76ers really didn't matter and nobody played but the bench this is what I will go off of of the starting lineup that I will expect to see today with Jason Tatum Derek White Mitchell Robinson Paul George and this last spot is always a spot that's always going to be a mix for the Boston Celtics we saw it last year with Jordan Walsh in that lineup I think we're going to see some Baylor Scheiman really even some Ugo Gonzalez I think he proved himself a lot in this preseason and I think he deserves to get some starting minutes here and there depending depending on matchups that's just what Joe Mazzulla likes to do I don't think that spot will be locked in to one person all season long but this team is incredibly deep if you guys didn't check out Callan's video go check that out about Boston Celtics depth it was a very very good video but this is the starting lineup that I would expect from the Boston Celtics to roll out against the Pistons and it's a big game first game in the season there's a lot of pressure you know it's a new look roster without Jalen Brown we get to see quarterback one Jason Tatum we get to see Paul George and how he truly looks in this Boston Celtics offense and defense is something that's going to be really really pivotal to Paul George in Boston as we have some quotes here from PG and Jason Tatum and Paul George talks about Jayson Tatum on how he looked in the Celtics practice and he said he looks good he's explosive he looks strong he's shooting the heck out of it he looks confident he's making plays he's handling pressure he's getting to his spots defensively he's locking down his rebounding you see everything is back and that is a very very exciting quote because of course there's going to be some question marks we saw how good he looks coming back off of injury but now this is his first full season off of that Achilles injury but he's making it seem like this injury never happened and i think we couldn't be any happier to see Jason Tatum playing healthy basketball and continuing to play at a high level. And that's what I want to see this season is a healthy Jason Tatum and a first team all NBA Jason Tatum. And Jason Tatum had some things as well as Paul George also continuing to preach him about the importance of what Jason Tatum has done for this team and what they need to do to get him easier baskets in the preseason PG and the team seemed to really embrace that George's added defensive playmaking may be the most prevalent source of him aiding in this process but his screening and passing play as a role in this too the entire team's defense screening passing and rebounding help JT get some really easy looks in the preseason and i hope it carries over throughout the year getting your best player easy looks is such a help given the amount of attention they will always receive from the defense and that's from our guy Nick NBA a friend of the channel as he always does some great breakdown on Boston Celtics anything that has to do with them he does it very well and I totally agree with him because that preseason really did bring a lot of different things that we wanted to see we want to see how this Boston Celtics team looks without Jason Tatum I really wanted to see how the pick and roll offense was going to look with Jason Tatum and Mitchell Robinson and I can personally say it looks very on par to where it was with Luke Cornett when he was here of course that's not the superstar name but they were a top three pick and roll duo in the NBA when it was at its peak and I was seeing it at that type of level with Mitchell Robinson so there were so many exciting things about this roster about this season that you could be excited about no Jalen Brown we get to see Jason Tatum Paul George we know how upset we are about the trade but guys this team is incredibly deep there is a lot of talent on this team you need great role players to surround your superstars and that is exactly what they have and I think that they are getting extremely extremely underrated this year and I truly believe that this team will finish within the top three in the Eastern Conference and I don't think that's too hot of a take you guys let me know down in the comments below what you truly think about this team this year. What's something that's going to surprise you? Is someone going to break out for you guys? What do you think? There's a lot of excitement, and I want to know what you guys have to say about it. But Jason Tatum had one thing to say, and he said, the Celtics championship parade was the best day of my life, and I can't wait to do it again. And Jason Tatum, I can't wait for you to do it again, and I hope that it is this season and I couldn't be more excited to see you go absolutely nuts with this Celtics roster as guys that is going to do it for this quick little video on the Boston Celtics expectations what to watch for go flood those comment sections with your expectations as well make sure you drop a like and hit that subscribe button as the season's starting you're not going to want to miss any of the news and everything that has to do with the Boston Celtics over here on Celtics Digest.
