Good morning. That is the chimney top. Isn't that cool? This trail starts up in a hurry.
Probably come up about 200 feet in the first quarter mile then it kind of levels off
for a while and then it goes up about 900 feet in a very short period of time.
Okay at the beginning of the trail you have a couple of uphill sections. It gets you up probably
I think before you get to the really hard climb. Gets you up five or six hundred feet
in elevation and it's got a couple of sections where it levels out.
Gives you some nice recovery time. So, so far it's been a really nice trail.
Wow, what do you think of that?
What do you think about this compared to the Rockies?
It is beautiful. It's a different, a totally different type of view. You know where the
Rockies, it's rugged rock, it's uh you know pine trees, ponderosa pine. It's crystal clear water
and streams similar to this, but this is just really dense vegetation and forest.
The different trees. Yeah, you're close. Yeah, the aspen trees out west are beautiful too.
But this is just amazing guys. Look, the canopy is just engulfs you. It's like a fairy.
Okay, so after you cross over the third bridge to the chimney cross, it gets really steep. We just
came up 125 feet and one-tenth of a mile. And this is what we got to do. You can see this is what
we're going up. Yep. So it's going to go up about 900 and something feet and two-thirds of a mile.
So in other words, this is what we're going to do for the next two-thirds of a mile.
Pretty much this. So in order to do this, we're going to, we're going to hike, hopefully not fall
down, and we're going to take some breaks. When our heart rate gets up, we'll start breathing really
hard, we take a break. Let that heart rate come back down. That way you will not overheat. For
about 30 seconds, right? Or more. Yeah, maybe 30 seconds. It doesn't take long if you're in relatively good shape.
We're yet. How much further? I don't know.
We know one thing, the summit's up there somewhere. Isn't this pretty? Every other, every hundred feet we
go up, we're getting closer to it. Hey, look at this tree, y'all. Okay, here it is. Look.
Look at this. You don't see something like that every day. Gotta get a picture.
It's right up there, but we got another flight of stairs to go. And more stairs.
What do you think? So much fun. Awesome. Kind of sketchy right there, but you gotta be smart. Panoramic views.
I think right across behind the summit is so close and so far. We've got this area closed for
rehabilitation, so I'd like to go up there, but it's probably better that I obey the law.
All right, we're going our way back down. It was awesome. What a view. So glad I did it.
I would rate this at a, what, on a scale of one to ten. I'd say an eight.
Yep, I was gonna say eight. A ten would be if you had to scramble and stuff like that.
We made it. Yay, we made it.
So again, an hour and five minutes to get down. Tremendous hike. Tremendous hike.
Oh, one more bridge, babe. Yeah, four bridges. Four bridges.
Uh, no, I think it's four. No, I could really go in there and swim. That would be nice.
Morning. Okay. The scenery, just from the top, the view from the top is awesome. Yeah, it's fun. I like the fact
that the water led most of the way. It was cool up in the trees,
and you can catch the Appalachian Trail up there. All right, any last words?
