People that hike are friendly, by and large. They are, they love life.
We made this reservation a year ago. It's hard to get a spot up here, that's for sure.
All right guys, he's the first timers, right? Yep. Okay, so office hours end at 4 15.
So if you want to do any kind of shopping, you have to do it before then. You have one
source of cold potable and watering camp right now, it's right here.
Because you're overnight guests, that means access to flush toilets. Those are right here,
you got two in the front, two in the back, and you have the key to that in your lodging. Okay.
Be bad to fall after hiking all that way. This right here is our dining hall. It's only open
to overnight guests right now. It just opened up, it'll be open till 4 15 there. That's where you
get your hot cocoa, your lemonade, and your coffee. The mugs are in your cabin for that.
If you need hot water, that's what this bucket's for. It's over here on the side where the red
thing is. To wash up. Yeah. So dinner tonight's gonna start at 5 15. So we'll come out right here
dinner time to let you know we're coming out and ring the bell. After that, we'll come up with your
water pitchers and your caddies. That's when the wine will start. We'll do three rounds with the
wine. And then after that, your food comes up, then we see if you want seconds, and then we do
clean up. We do recommend if you brought any kind of snacks up that you put them in our bear
bins overnight. Those are in the dining hall to the left when you first walk in. That'll be open
till nine o'clock tonight. You can retrieve anything out. Okay. Okay, so morning time.
It's between sunrise or breakfast and all this stuff. So basically, if you want coffee in the
morning, 7 38. You got a 30 minute window. Okay, bring your mug down here. If you decide to do
sunrise, that's running about eight o'clock. And that's when breakfast is. So if you decide you
want to do that, just tell us and we'll put your breakfast in your brain. Okay, we want to do that.
When do we tell you that in the morning? Yeah, or just anytime just be like, Hey, we decide we are
going to do sunrise. So yeah, we're gonna do that. Honestly, such a beautiful day. When the temperature
is low to and stuff like that you start having all these inversions and stuff. So I would recommend
trying to do sunset and sunrise. Yeah, we're gonna do both. Yeah. All right. Yes. So sunset
is at cliff tops. Okay. Around like 645 tonight. You go to the top of stairs go right and it's
like, I've been there before. Okay, awesome. I have been up here before. I just never stayed
at the lodge. All right, then. If you want to do sunrise, you go to Myrtle Point. It's back
around this way. That way about point 7.8. All right, y'all are gonna be in this lodging right
here. Yeah, thank you. All right, so y'all are staying here with other people. You have your
own private room, but you're like the middle area is kind of like your common area. So the keys are
right here. And y'all are in this room over here. And these people actually stayed last night too.
Bucket right here. You have your wash basin on the wall and your matches for your kerosene liner.
Heater is already on pilot. You turn it counterclockwise to turn it up.
Here's your mugs for the beverages. Awesome. This is how they used to live, huh? Yeah.
This is the common area for the cabin. There's three rooms in this cabin, three bedrooms.
They used to have fires here. Now they have a propane heater or kerosene heater.
My parents would love this. The beds look comfy, huh?
If you don't bump your head, get in there. Let's see what the warning says.
No fires, unacceptable resource damage from house camp fire use.
You're gonna ring the bell? Yeah.
Is that not the neatest? Look, I mean, y'all are lined up.
We got pot roast, mashed potatoes. I'm trying not to get you guys in there. Gravy,
green beans, fried apples, cornbread, and a big huge cookie. Yeah.
So here we are. It's a little bit after six and we're hiking over to the cliff tops.
To watch the sunset, but it is a little nippy out here. It's gonna get pretty cold tonight,
I would say. Beautiful sunset, to say the least. Wow. Headed back down from the cliff tops
on top of Mount Lecomte. A little night hiking. We've had a great day, though. It's been a
beautiful day, beautiful sunset. I've had a wonderful time here. It's very relaxing
and beautiful and so cool. So I'm exhausted. It's time for sleep. We are gonna get up early
in the morning and go see the sunrise. Well, it's about 7 30 in the morning, which here it's pitch
black. And we're going to go see the sunrise on Myrtle Point. The only problem is it completely
clouded over last night. The boys are lining up down here. They're getting coffee this morning.
And that's looking off back toward Gatlinburg. But you can see the sky is completely cloudy.
So you're not going to see this tremendous sunrise from Myrtle Point,
but I guarantee you it would be awesome if you could see it.
Yes. Um, I hope it's strong. Well, you know, we could still walk over there.
Well, I'll take the top button. I think I prefer the top button. Can I get y'all's picture
so I can remember you? You think you can send it to me? I can do anything you want.
Okay, girls, we could do. There's a little more room right here. There you go. Perfect.
Okay. All right. We're headed out this morning. What time is it? About nine o'clock.
935. It's been fun. Hey, guys, we just finished our hike up to the top of Mount Leconte.
We stayed in the lodge overnight. What do you think? It was the best experience. I loved it.
It was really nice. It was very rustic. Very rustic, but well worth the money.
I've hiked Leconte twice before, but staying up there was really nice. There's also a shelter
up there. You have to have a permit for it, but if you want to camp up there, you can stay in
the shelter, which is not very far from the lodge. Two great overlook points, Myrtle Point and the
Clifftops. I highly recommend this hike. Start early. A lot of people on the trail. A lot of
people. Yeah, a lot of people. Now, I'm sorry. Yeah, it's time to go to something to eat. I'm
sorry. And we hope you enjoyed the video. Karen, what in the world are you eating?
No judging. I deserve this. What is that? Chicken progetto. I think I'm having some
healthy rainbow trout with, it's actually spicy grilled. Oh, so good.
