Have The Raiders SPED UP Mendoza's Timeline After Cousin's Worst Performance??

I wanted to do a little Fernando Mendoza check-in because there are literally times throughout these games where I forget that he even exists. And that mostly is a good thing because that means that Kirk Cousins is playing well enough for me to not think about the idea that we have the first pick in the draft on our bench just learning and waiting to get his opportunity. And he finally did, albeit in not a great spot, us getting blown out by the New England Patriots. and while I do think there has been some interesting discussions had about okay the schedule is getting tougher now if we start to lose and peter out here the timeline for Fernando Mendoza has been expedited a little bit especially after getting blown out by the Patriots who didn't have their full arsenal of weaponry it was a really bad loss for us two interesting things about this the first thing is yes maybe it was expedited a little bit there's a report from Dan Graziano that talks a little bit about that but number two and I'm not saying this has anything to do with what we saw him do against the Patriots because they were playing prevent defense but number two is this are we completely sure that at this point Kirk Cousins gives us the best chance to win it might be unfair to say as of right now but if we still can't run the football and Kirk Cousins is getting pressure with four the question has to be asked do you sacrifice a little bit of cerebral of Kirk Cousins for the athletic of Fernando Mendoza. I think it's safe to say that my confidence is officially shaken in the Las Vegas Raiders after two straight losses. The Chiefs loss was a pretty good loss as far as losses go. The Patriots loss, not so much. The Patriots turned their season around playing the Buffalo Bills, so maybe we can do the same here as we check the markets on Kalshi. There's also spreads here as well. Buffalo Bills win by over five and a half points over 52 and a half percent buffalo bills outright chance to win right now sits at 69 which is what the market has been set at and if i'm trading with my head i would probably lean toward taking that but if we purchase the yes contract for the raiders to win and we put a crisp 25 on it, the payout is 76 90 which is interesting. And I initially said I didn't think Kirk Cousins was to blame for that loss on Sunday I mean, if there was blame pie to go around he had a smaller portion than anybody else that were to get blamed however, there are some plays going around and this is a little dangerous because we don't know what the reads are, what the progressions are, what the play design is, but there are some plays going around where there were people open down the field that Kirk Cousins didn't see or didn't get the ball to or didn't think he could make the throw or was pressured so he couldn't step into it, blah, blah, blah. Is Kirk Cousins making a mistake by not throwing those balls? Maybe. But here's another thing to consider. on a lot of those plays that are going viral because you know people think they're all all 22 experts that's why i don't do a lot of film on here because i don't really know what i'm talking about there are other people who do that masterfully you can go check them out kirk cousins is getting pressured on a lot of those now it's not like he can't make the throw but he thinks in his mind if he can't give it his all in this moment it could be intercepted so maybe he's making the right decision there if we had a quarterback who could scramble away from that pressure and then make that over the top throw don't you think that element gives us the better chance to win because right now teams continually no matter how well Kirk Cousins is able to dissect your defense five yards and in people are stacking the box they still do not respect Kirk Cousins even though he was able to have success extending the ball down the field in games in the past and if Clint Kubiak has an off-day play calling, and then they're stacking the box, we have no element. We have no fourth or fifth gear with Kirk Cousins. So I think whether the debate right now is to have Kirk Cousins sit because the season's over is one thing. But I actually think the debate should be, does Fernando Mendoza give the Raiders the best chance to win right now? Now, again, we're going back and forth on whether Ashton is hurt or not. Is Fernando Mendoza being put in the best position to succeed with this team the way it is right now, with the offensive line, with the blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah? Look, people have to face adversity, okay? He got hit in college hard, and he bounced back. He made mistakes in college. He's going to make mistakes when we play him, but when you watch a team like the Buffalo Bills, where they can't pass the ball essentially all day, but their quarterback is 120 yards rushing and has that just other element that other gear it's hard not to think about the potential prospect of Fernando Mendoza my tv just shut off of Fernando Mendoza out there and if he gives the Raiders the best chance to win now if we do the thing we always do where is Fernando Mendoza going to be this by the way this right here has been the murderer's row that they're talking about with the Jets sprinkled in between it goes all the way to the Seahawks now what's interesting is people weren't saying the gauntlet starts here with the Chiefs because we played them well it's now it starts here because we got destroyed. So the Bills, they're 4-1. Offense is obviously incredible. Defense can be had. I think we can be competitive in that football game. The Rams, Miles Garrett maybe will be back by then. They're 2-3. So by the time we play them, at best we'll have the same record. The Jets are the Jets. They're weird. 49ers, that's obviously a tough game. The Seahawks is obviously a tough game. And then that's it. Then the last 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 games are against teams that I'm not afraid of at all. I don't mean to disrespect the Browns and the Broncos, but it is what it is. And then the Chiefs, who know what they're playing for. So let's pretend that we lose to the Bills 3-3, lose to the Rams 3-4. I still don't know if they're going to throw Mendoza in here because you think we're going to beat the Jets. If we beat the Jets, we're at 4-4. If we lose the next two games, we're at 4-6. Then do you throw Fernando Mendoza in against a Broncos team that can't score points against the Browns who really aren't a threat offensively against the Chargers who are horrific the Titans who are not good like don't you think that Kirk Cousins is essentially the best quarterback in all these games the way he's playing right now this season I know Nick and Herbert have more talent but they're not playing as well as in this season so at four and six why would you punt on the season when you can win you know one two three four of the next five right and then you are uh nine and seven i think the question is going to be not when the softest spot in the schedule is for Fernando Mendoza to play the question is going to be at four and six right around here who gives you the better chance to win is it Mendoza or is it Kirk Cousins and i think that's the interesting question that not everybody is talking about. Fernando Mendoza is a smart guy. How long is it going to take for him to be competent enough to make the right decisions in this offense? He's not going to be as smart as Kirk Cousins. It's going to take him multiple, multiple seasons to be in that same realm. But he clearly is more physically talented. The only hard part about this decision, because I'm not worried about him going in there and getting hit or him making mistakes. It is what it is. He's a rookie. The only hard part about this decision is that Kirk Cousins, like I thought he would, is making this very difficult because he is playing so well. But if that film is true, that he isn't making the right reads, he is afraid to go over the top, then there needs to be a serious discussion about Mendoza's ability to be able to extend the field. Because if you are able to do that, then defenses can't stack the box against you. That's the key to all this.
