Gov. Ron DeSantis Announces New Florida Economic Investments In Coral Reef Restoration

I'm proud to award $9.5 million through Florida's Coral Reef Restoration and Recovery Initiative to safeguard Florida's coral reef. I called for the creation of this program in Executive Order 23-06, Achieving Even More Now for Florida's Environment, which I signed at the beginning of my second term in office, to reaffirm our commitment to protecting Florida's natural resources. And the Legislature stepped up, providing good funding for this program. The funding will be awarded to six institutions across Florida to enhance coral recovery, including propagation and out-planting capacities important to the health and longevity of Florida's coral reef. I'm proud of the work we've done to support the health of Florida's natural resources, and I'll continue to encourage and target conservation investments that leave Florida better to God than how we found it.
