In this video, I'll be showing you what it's like taking the ferry from IJburg to Muiderslot Castle, ticket prices, what it looks like inside the castle and facilities eg cafe, lockers etc. This is a great day trip from Amsterdam, and the ferry is only a short tram ride away from Amsterdam Centraal Station.
in this video I'm going to be talking
about what it's like taking the ferry to
malda slot castle ticket prices what it
looks like inside the castle and what
facilities they've got there so let's
get straight into this
there's a ferry called the Amsterdam
tourist Ferry which sails from iberg to
mounterslot Castle the ferry only runs
during the warmer months of April to
October and it leaves at 10 45 in the
morning in terms of Journey time it's
about 45 minutes one way and then you
get just over two and a half hours to
roam around the castle then you've got
to be back at the jetty for about 2 30
in the afternoon to sail back to iberg
and arrive at about 3 15. inside the
ferry there are plenty of tables and
chairs plus there's a small bar where
you can buy drinks and snacks upstairs
you also have more seating and when you
can get an even better view of the water
overall I thought the journey was very
pleasant and really relaxing as well
ticket prices will vary depending on
whether you have any of the
supplementary cards without any cards a
return ticket costs 25 Euros 50 and with
the museum card it costs 13 euros 50 and
with the I Amsterdam City card it is 10
euros
mount a slot Castle was really
impressive it's one of the oldest
castles in the Netherlands and it's over
700 years old there's also a free audio
guide which I think has been done really
well and you know you get to see all the
different rooms and you know learn some
very interesting facts as you walk
around outside there are various Gardens
to see as well we managed to walk around
the herb and vegetable gardens but we
didn't have enough time to explore say
the the prune Orchard or anywhere else
around the grounds
there are lockers where you can put your
stuff in and you'll need a one Euro coin
to use them also there are plenty of
coat racks and the toilets are here as
well in terms of food there is a cafe
where you can pick up drinks snacks and
lunch
um we had Toasties there which were
pretty good and next to the cafe there
is also a gift shop I overall I really
liked my autosock castle and I'd highly
recommend it as a day trip from
Amsterdam now unless I needed to spend
more than three hours at the Castle I
would opt to go with the ferry again
because from Amsterdam Central Station
you just need to grab the number 26 tram
to iberg and then it's a very short walk
from that tram stop to get onto the
ferry otherwise if you're doing it all
by public transport you would need to
first get a train to vase and then get a
bus and then you'd also have to walk for
a bit as well so that Journey wouldn't
be as straightforward just to let you
know I'm gonna be taking a break over
the summer from YouTube so I will see
you again in a month or two I hope you
have a lovely summer if you enjoyed this
video please do me a favor and hit that
like button otherwise thank you so much
for watching until next time goodbye
