The third part of lesson 4 focuses on some review again and we'll cover some notes and sentences. First, we see one pronunciation and three characters. All three characters are pronounced as ta. First ta means her, second ta means him, and third ta means it. They are referring to feminine, masculine, and item or animal. So ta has multiple meanings. So now we're starting with sentences. 我的妈妈是一个老师。 我的, my, mine. 妈妈, mom. 是, is. 一个, one, or a. 老师, teacher. 我的妈妈是一个老师。 My mom is a teacher. 他们的爸爸是一个警察。 他们的, their,爸爸, dad. 一个警察, a policeman. Because 警察 can mean police or policeman. And one thing to note in this sentence is 他们的. The first character ta means she or her. So this means that this dad has daughters and we're referring to them. 他们的. 我们是同学。 We are classmates. 我们, we or us. 是 can mean is but here it means are. 同学, classmate, or classmates. 我们是同学。 We are classmates. 我的专业是物理工程。 我的, my, mine. 专业, program, or major. 物理, physics. It's referring to a subject. Physics. 物理,工程, engineering. 我的专业是物理工程。 我就读于综合理工大学。 就读于 means study at. 大学, as we mentioned this in the previous video, means university. And 综合理工 is polytechnic. So I studied at polytechnic in Chinese would be 我就读于综合理工大学。
