The Cleveland Cavaliers are eyeing a former all-star forward after missing out on LeBron James
The Cleveland Cavaliers have had interest in multiple players via trade and sign
This is a new one that we're going to be talking about here today at Cavs digest. I am Matt planes
Thank you all so much for joining me. You guys have been killing it with the support recently
The videos are doing so well, so keep subscribing. Let's get this channel up giveaway could be coming in the future
I don't know
But anyways, make sure you subscribe a lot of you guys that watch these videos are not subbed
I mean you're missing out all of the daily Cavaliers content
So there's something we talked about as a potential player that the Cavs may want to I I talked about it a couple weeks ago
But now the Cavs are officially eyeing one player specifically. So let's look at the report here
Quote according to Chris Fedor
The Cavaliers are now targeting DeMar DeRozan after missing out on LeBron James Cleveland is wasting no time
Shifting to its next move. So we pay Watson
Royce O'Neill, maybe
Now we have Oh Bruce Brown and now we have DeMar DeRozan. Of course, Jonathan coming guys. Well
There's been a lot of guys in the Cleveland Cavaliers could be getting that could help their overall depth and just improve their roster
Especially after missing out on LeBron
With that being said I do want to ask you guys that every free agent that the Cleveland Cavaliers are eyeing or have been linked
Which move do you want the Cavs to make the most the top three probably are DeRozan Kuminga and Peyton Watson
Of course, we talked about Bruce Brown. Of course, Kevin Durant might be in that mix somewhere. I'm not sure I doubt it
Royce O'Neill maybe maybe there's a guy that I haven't mentioned yet or that the Cavs haven't been linked with that
You think they could pull the trigger on so go ahead and drop a comment below
Which move do you want the Cavs to make the most after seeing all of these videos on?
Potential targets for the Cavaliers me personally. It's still gonna be Peyton Watson
But we're gonna talk about DeRozan today
so
DeMar DeRozan one of the best scores of our generation, I guess pure just pure scores
He has a long legacy of I think he's in his mid late 30s. Just being a mid-range slashing scoring threat
throughout his whole career and
I think that he could be a good fit with Cleveland due to his leadership ability
But there's some maybe some skill set that doesn't cause him to be the best fit in Cleveland
But we'll talk about that still so you can kind of see it here. He's so an 18-point score
He is he averages the most points out of all of the potential Cavaliers recruits or Cavaliers free agency and trade targets
He does average the most points with 18.4. He has improved his three-point shooting a little bit shooting 33% now
He's never been a great three-point shooter. He's always thrived with his slashing ability and his mid-range shooting ability
but nonetheless
Still an 18-point scorer who played 77 games. He stays relatively healthy as of late and I don't think he would be too expensive
I think you'd get him for less than Kuminga probably just based on asking price alone
Maybe DeRozan will be willing to sign for like a 10 million dollar deal. Who knows?
I also have some more news regarding DeMar DeRozan and his relationship with a Cavaliers player that could affect him coming to Cleveland
But that is still up in the air and I'll talk about that as this video continues
But just kind of breaking down his general skill set as I said mid-range scorer, slashing ability
He's in his 30s. So he has that veteran leadership. He doesn't have a ring, but he has been on some good Toronto teams
He was in San Antonio, Sacramento, Chicago
All that good stuff, but I just don't think since Toronto he's been on the right fit
He's not really been on a team built that well
Of course, the Bulls had Zach Levine and then the Kings get Zach Levine and DeRozan as well
I don't know
But nonetheless, I think that the Cavs could be a good fit for him
If he starts at the three or plays back up either way
I think that they will most likely start him at the three if they don't get Peyton Watson
I still think Peyton Watson should be the primary target, but nonetheless
DeMar DeRozan, good player
We know his scoring legacy and he could still score 15 plus points for the Cavaliers and he's actually not a bad defender at all
He's not an elite defender, but he's a good defender
He's always been a just a good enough defender in his career good enough to perform and help out his team
He's not a liability on the defensive side and that's something really really important
He doesn't make those splash plays on defense like getting steals or blocks, but he still does play good defense
Now, let's look at this next report about a relationship that the Cavs have Cavs could have with DeRozan
Per scoop B and we are Cavs nation, of course
rumor
James Harden's relationship with DeMar DeRozan could play a pivotal role in DeMar's potential interest in Cleveland
So we're now finding out that DeMar DeRozan and Harden are buddies. I saw some pictures of them together
they are
Relatively good friends and some say that you know sports is a friendship league at a lot of times
So maybe DeRozan being friends with James Harden could allow the Cavs to you know could allow Harden's recruitment
To assist bringing DeRozan along. I also saw that
James Harden is just gonna continue holding out as contract even though they are working on a contract as we speak
I think that James Harden is actually going to wait so the Cavs could maybe get some assets
Such as Peyton Watson or DeMar DeRozan, so I don't think that James Harden is going to sign yet
I think that he's gonna continue to hold out
I think he wants a guy like Peyton Watson
But I think he really really wants DeMar DeRozan to be with the Cavaliers at least that's what it seems like so far
just based on their history of being friends hanging out outside of
outside of
Basketball and I think that it could play a role
Apparently they could play a role into them getting DeRozan, but there's something crazy going on
Okay
The Cavs need to pull the trigger on something and they have been very very reluctant to trade Shrews or Schroeder in a pick
They they need to make a move now. Is DeRozan the move now?
I think Watson is but if you the fact that the Cavs haven't signed a free agent
Outside of his own yes pissing me off
So pissing me off all offseason, but I think that time would tell DeRozan is still one of the best free agents available
And I haven't I know the Wizards have been in talks with him
I think the Wizards might be the frontrunners to get him. I know Miami has interest in him
I know that probably Golden State does maybe they have interest in everyone, but they haven't been able to get anyone. Sorry Golden State
Not really
But nonetheless
I know that DeRozan is gonna catch eyes from multiple teams and I'm pretty sure a team like the Wizards might want to have him
With AJ Devonsa and they're kind of their young core to build up some sort of have some veteran leadership with them. So I think the Cavs
Actually might not be the top team for DeRozan
So I think that they might want to try to pull the trigger soon try to be hey, you know
Let's meet with DeRozan. Let's try to get him to come to Cleveland as quick as possible because
Recently, we've talked about so many different players Peyton Watson, Bruce Brown, Royce O'Neal, DeMar DeRozan
Jonathan Kuminga, of course, I still think the Cavs are the frontrunner to get Kuminga
But it comes down to finances. Kuminga has asked for 20 million dollars
The Hawks might they the Cavs might be like hey sign and trade is the best thing we could do for him because we don't
Want to pay him 20 million dollars so that could afford that could force them to lose a guy
But if they lose Schroeder, it's okay
But nonetheless, I think that the Cavs are going to have to trade somebody to acquire Kuminga. DeRozan
You don't have to trade anyone
So why don't you go ahead and find your best free agent available pay him the price he's asking for and go ahead and get him
That's what I think about DeRozan, I think DeRozan is the easiest to acquire out of all the guys the Cavs are eyeing
Peyton Watson is a sign and trade, Kuminga is a sign and trade
DeRozan might be a 12 million dollar signing and now that we know that DeRozan and James Harden have a relationship
Friendship, that's not a word right? Friendship, then I think that there is a lot of possibilities that DeRozan could end up in Cleveland
But I think that he's gonna go to Miami or Washington
But I think Cleveland has to try to make that move. Now to prevent that from happening
So in the comments below what free agency what free agency move you want the Cavaliers to make we've talked about a lot recently
